Join now >The Texans signed Steven Mitchell Jr. to the active roster.
Mitchell was on Houston’s active roster last season, and he’ll now look to work his way into a role on game days long-term. The USC product is not a recommended fantasy pickup yet.

Will Fuller (hamstring) is expected to miss several weeks.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says Fuller “has a rather significant hamstring pull” and is expected to miss several weeks based on recent tests. This isn’t a surprise after Fuller left early and was unable to return to yesterday’s game, and it’s unfortunately yet another injury for the former first-round pick. Houston is lucky to have depth at receiver, but this is still a significant blow to the offense. The fantasy value of Keke Coutee and Kenny Stills clearly increases with Fuller’s absence, and Fuller is not a must-hold in redraft leagues if you need roster space.

Davante Adams (toe) officially did not practice today.
This isn’t a surprise to start the week, and Adams remains day-to-day with his turf toe. The star receiver is making progress, but we won’t feel good about his status until he gets back on the practice field.

Kareem Hunt has been cleared to practice with the Browns.
As Cleveland returns from their bye week, Hunt will join the rest of his new teammates and is able to practice for the next couple of weeks before he can be activated ahead of Week 10 after his eight-game suspension is concluded. While Hunt is a very talented runner, he’s not a must-pickup in fantasy leagues, as Nick Chubb is a stud that’s clearly locked in as the workhorse starting running back for the Browns as the team’s best player. Just keep in mind, for deeper leagues in particular, that Hunt will be available to play starting in Week 10 against the Bills. And Hunt will arguably be the top handcuff in fantasy when he returns to the field.

Sammy Watkins (hamstring) was officially a full participant in today’s practice.
Watkins looks poised to return for the Chiefs after missing the last two games with his hamstring issue, though we’ll update you if anything changes with his status in the next two days. Watkins is obviously a big boost to Kansas City’s offense, but the electric receiver’s fantasy value takes a hit without Patrick Mahomes (knee) in the lineup. Still, there are worse options than betting against a talented player like Watkins playing in an Andy Reid offense, even with a backup quarterback.

David Montgomery gets four touches in Week 7.
Montgomery carried twice for six yards and added two receptions for 13 yards in Chicago’s home loss to New Orleans. Bears head coach Matt Nagy clearly did not want to attack the Saints on the ground, instead opting to throw the ball around, with Mitchell Trubisky passing 54 times. After recording touch totals of 19, 16, and 24 from weeks 2-4 (Chicago’s three wins this season), the Bears have stopped featuring the promising rookie, even coming off the bye. Next week is a better matchup for Montgomery against the Chargers, and you’d think the Bears will realize he should be getting a lot more than four touches in a game. But there are clearly going to be some down weeks for Montgomery in an inconsistent offense.

Jared Cook (ankle) officially did not practice today.
Cook is looking iffy for Sunday against the Cardinals after he was not able to practice at all last week leading up to Week 7. Hopefully the veteran tight end can practice tomorrow.
