Julian Edelman (chest) is officially active for Monday night.

Edelman was officially listed as questionable coming into tonight, but there was little doubt he would be out there against the Jets. Keep Edelman locked into fantasy lineups as an excellent Week 7 option.

The Vikings promoted Davion Davis to the 53-man roster.

Davion Davis is an undrafted rookie from Sam Houston State, and he’ll help fill in as a reserve receiver with Adam Thielen (hamstring) out tonight against the Redskins. Davis’ birthday was yesterday, so this is quite the gift to get called up to the NFL roster for Week 8.

Ito Smith (concussion) will not play in Week 8.

The Falcons are not taking any chances with Smith after he was carted off with head and neck injuries in yesterday’s loss to the Rams. Smith remains in concussion protocol and should be considered week-to-week. Smith’s absence could lead to more work for starter Devonta Freeman.

Chris Herndon (hamstring) officially remains limited in practice.

Today will be Herndon’s second consecutive limited practice as he looks to potentially get on the field this Sunday at Jacksonville. We’ll update you with Herndon’s official game status when the final Week 8 injury report is released tomorrow.

Kyle Allen will start for the Panthers in Week 8.

Panthers head coach Ron Rivera says that Cam Newton is still rehabbing his foot, and the team is not rushing him back. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Newton was expected to be ready for this week after Carolina’s bye, but it looks like either that was false or the Panthers are using Newton’s foot as a cover for deciding to stick with Allen. This Sunday against the 49ers is a very difficult matchup for Allen and the Panthers offense, so it’ll be interesting to see if the team goes back to their former MVP if Allen struggles and loses his first game as a starting quarterback in the NFL.

Eric Tomlinson remains on the Patriots’ 53-man roster.

It was announced yesterday that Tomlinson was released, but the Patriots just said that Tomlinson was not released yesterday and remains on the team’s active roster. Tomlinson is mostly contributing as a blocker for New England and is off the fantasy radar for now.

Adam Thielen’s hamstring injury “isn’t serious,” according to Tom Pelissero.

An MRI provided more clarity on Thielen’s outlook, and while is unlikely he play on a short week this Thursday night, it doesn’t sound like he will miss any time beyond that. The Vikings will likely keep the ball on the ground against the Redskins in Week 8.
