Jared Goff was 22/27 for 268 passing yards and two passing touchdowns along with three carries for three rushing yards and a rushing touchdown in the Rams’ rout of the Falcons. Goff has all day in the pocket for much of the game, which allowed him to hit his top-tier group of playmakers against a defense that simply looked outmatched. It could have been an even bigger day for Goff if not for some near misses on a number of deep balls that he and his receivers didn’t quite connect on—including tight end Gerald Everett on a few occasions. Goff gets another juicy matchup against the Bengals next week, and he’ll remain an excellent QB1 option that should be in most fantasy lineups.

Aaron Rodgers torches the Raiders in Week 7.
Rodgers was 25/31 for 429 passing yards and five passing touchdowns along with two carries for six yards and a rushing score for his best game of the season by far to this point and one of the best games of his career. The offensive line gave Rodgers all day in the pocket, and it almost looked like the Raiders were basically trying to keep the future Hall of Fame quarterback from scrambling; Rodgers simply stood in there and waited for receivers to get open—taking some big shots in the process—and made a bunch of chunk plays throughout the game. Rodgers’ five passing touchdowns were to five different receivers, and the rushing score was basically a walk-in. Rodgers was probably on the bench in a good number of leagues considering he’s been just adequate statistically this season for a Green Bay offense that’s probably built around the run game more than in the past, but this performance will likely make people feel better about using him as a QB1 in fantasy lineups. Rodgers plays in Arrowhead next Sunday night.

Amari Cooper (ankle/quad) is officially active for Sunday night.
Cooper expressed optimism that he’d be ready to go after getting in a limited practice on Friday, and he is ready for a huge NFC East matchup with the Eagles. There’s some concern that Cooper could be a bit of a decoy or simply less effective than usual after the quad issue forced him to sit out most of last week’s game, but Cooper basically needs to be in fantasy lineups versus a struggling cornerback group he torched last season.

Randall Cobb (back) is officially active against the Eagles.
Cobb was able to practice on Friday, and most of the injured Cowboys were expected to give it a go tonight in a big Week 7 NFC East matchup. Cobb could do some damage in a potential shootout, but he’s just a FLEX option.

Delanie Walker (ankle) is officially questionable to return against the Chargers.
Walker entered the game with an ankle issue, and it’s apparently giving him trouble. He’s been on the sideline for most of the game and does not appear very likely to return despite wearing his helmet.

David Johnson barely plays in Week 7.
Johnson had just one carry for two yards early in the game before sitting out for most of the game. DJ entered the game with an ankle injury, and that is almost certainly why he sat out for almost the entire contest despite being active. Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury said on Friday that he did not think Johnson would have played if the game were held that day, and apparently the ankle didn’t improve much leading up to today. This was obviously less than ideal for fantasy owners that had Johnson in lineups as a high-end RB1 option, and backup Chase Edmonds went on to rack up 150 total yards and three touchdowns on 29 touches with DJ out. We’ll see if there’s word on Johnson’s status soon, but he should be considered questionable at best for next Sunday against the Saints for now.

Matt Ryan limps to the locker room.
[UPDATE: It is officially an ankle injury for Ryan, who has been ruled out.] Ryan was injured on a sack by Aaron Donald and limped to the sideline, and now he’s headed to the locker room. With the Rams in full control of this game, it’s unlikely that he returns today—and considering Ryan is one of the tougher and most durable quarterbacks in the league, there’s a chance this is a serious injury he’s dealing with. Ryan was 16/27 for 159 yards and one interception along with one carry and two yards in one of the more disappointing performances of the week, as the wheels are really coming off for the Falcons. Matty Ice would have been the first quarterback in league history to hit 300 passing yards in the first seven games in a season if he were able to hit the mark today.
