Join now >The Raiders are acquiring Zay Jones for a fifth-round pick, according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen.
Oakland has been trying to upgrade their receiving corps after the Antonio Brown saga, and they’re adding the former second-round pick of the Bills. At 3-2 after a huge win over the Bears in London, general manager Mike Mayock and head coach Jon Gruden are being aggressive to improve the roster in-season (they already acquired receiver/returner Trevor Davis from the Packers last month). Jones could work his way into a clear role as a starter after he learns his nw offense, but it’ll likely take time. He’s not a highly recommended waiver wire pickup yet.

The Titans are starting Ryan Tannehill, according to NFL Network.
This sends former No. 2 overall pick Marcus Mariota to the bench. While it is not a surprising move considering the Titans took their time making the decision and left their former franchise quarterback out hanging the past 24+ hours, this is still a bit of a jarring move. Mariota has been a huge reason the Titans have become a respected competitive team over the last handful of seasons, and he just led the team to a playoff win at Arrowhead a couple of seasons ago. It’s difficult to see Tannehill being a major upgrade for an offense that simply needs much better play from the offensive line and receivers on the outside. Tannehill is not a recommended fantasy pickup. For fantasy purposes, Mariota is a definite buy-low target in dynasty leagues, as most people likely feel his fantasy value is at zero—but he can be a star player if he lands in the right spot after Tennessee did him no favors with the way they’ve switched offensive coordinators throughout his time as the starting quarterback.

Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) is officially active against the Eagles.
The bye week did Thomas good, as he’ll be on the field after missing one game with the hamstring injury suffered in Week 2. The veteran receiver is difficult to trust in fantasy lineups with Sam Darnold (mono) still out of the lineup.

The Chargers promoted Jason Moore to the active roster.
Moore is an undrafted rookie receiver from Findlay, and he figures to get his first shot in an NFL game tomorrow night against the Steelers. Moore is not a recommended fantasy option right now, but he’s someone to track in real life as he looks to carve out a longterm role with the Chargers.

The Rams waived Nsimba Webster.
Webster is being waived to make room for running back John Kelly on LA’s active roster. The undrafted rookie receiver could soon land back on the Rams practice squad or even the active roster again.

David Johnson (back) officially remains out of practice.
This is two straight missed practices for DJ, and obviously not a great sign for his Week 6 availability. That said, Johnson will certainly have a decent chance to suit up on Sunday if he’s able to hit the practice field in at least a limited capacity tomorrow. Right now, we’d consider him about 50/50, but his upside is probably worth waiting on if you’re stuck between him and a lower-level fantasy player from the Thursday game in your lineup.

Kenny Stills (hamstring/ankle) is officially inactive for Week 5.
Stills was able to participate in practice on a limited basis this week, but he’ll sit this one out against the Falcons. Keke Coutee will have a clear role as a starter along with DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller today.
