Join now >The Seahawks signed Jazz Ferguson to the practice squad.
This was fully expected to happen if Ferguson cleared waivers, which he did. The big undrafted rookie is a name to watch in dynasty leagues as he develops in Seattle.

The Seahawks have released Jaron Brown.
Seattle needed to free cap space after trading for Jadeveon Clowney, so the veteran—who seemed in line to be a Week 1 starter—is now a free agent. The Seahawks could have three rookies (D.K. Metcalf, Gary Jennings, and John Ursua) right behind Tyler Lockett on the depth chart.

The 49ers have released Jeff Wilson.
Wilson showed some flashes last year when injuries hit San Francisco’s backfield, but even with Jerick McKinnon (knee) on IR, the team is set at running back. The 23-year-old shouldn’t have trouble landing on someone’s active roster or practice squad.

Derrick Henry (calf) is practicing for the Titans.
Henry had been out since the first day of camp with what was described as a minor issue, and his return suggests that was the case. Ideally, the monster runner will be active for Tennessee’s third preseason game, but even if he doesn’t play, fantasy owners should be comfortable drafting Henry as a high-upside option on a run-first offense.

The Jaguars claimed Devine Ozigbo.
Ozigbo was waived by the Saints yesterday, but he lands in a good spot in Jacksonville. He’ll look to carve out a role behind starter Leonard Fournette on a team that’s going to want to run the ball a lot this season.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says he expects Ezekiel Elliott will miss regular season games.
Jones says that right now, the team is operating as if Elliott will not be with them for the season opener against the Giants and “that he’s going to miss games. I just accept that.” Jones also added that the team will need Zeke this season, but there’s no deadline to get him signed and back with the team. Also, Jones said Elliott “can’t and won’t miss [all the games].” This could just be strong posturing from Jones as he looks to get a deal done with Elliott ahead of Week 1, but it sounds like the team is not expecting their star running back to return in time for the start of the season—and it he returns too late (or whenever he returns), the Cowboys might not insert him back into the lineup as they look to make sure he’s ready and gets back into the swing of things. Hopefully there’s more clarity on this situation soon, but it looks like it’ll be the Tony Pollard show in Week 1 and beyond to open this season.

The Patriots released Brian Hoyer, according to multiple reports.
Fourth-round rookie quarterback Jarrett Stidham looked excellent this preseason, and he’ll back up Tom Brady. Meanwhile, Hoyer should draw interest around the league as an experienced backup, and it’s possible he makes his way back to New England if they carry three quarterbacks at one point.
