Join now >The Jaguars are placing Alfred Blue on injured reserve, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Blue is dealing with an ankle injury suffered in the preseason, but it was said to be just a sprained ankle. Jacksonville presumably wanted to clear a roster spot, and the team is left with the just-claimed Tyler Ervin and rookies Ryquell Armstead (fifth round) and Devine Ozigbo (undrafted and just claimed by the Jags) at running back behind starter Leonard Fournette.

Rodney Anderson tore his ACL, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
This is terrible news for Anderson, who worked his way back from a bad ACL tear suffered early last season with Oklahoma only to have his rookie season end before it gets started. The talented sixth-round pick will now have to go through another rehab process as he looks to get back on the field in 2020. The Bengals will certainly not rush Anderson back after a re-tear, so consider him questionable for Week 1 of next season for now. Anderson has long-term upside, but he probably isn’t a must-hold in dynasty leagues.

The Chiefs have released Jalen Tolliver.
Tolliver started a game last season for Arizona, but he’s currently off the fantasy radar.

The Chargers have given Melvin Gordon permission to seek a trade, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Los Angeles had been hoping their superstar back will eventually report, but it sounds like they have opened the door to a trade so they can move forward without any distraction. Of course, this doesn’t mean a trade will happen or that Gordon won’t suit up for the Chargers again, especially after Houston just recently acquired Carlos Hyde. The Bills could be a potential landing spot with LeSean McCoy now gone, but the most obvious fit is Tampa Bay.

The Panthers have released Torrey Smith, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Carolina needed a roster spot after acquiring Ray-Ray McCloud off waivers, so the veteran deep threat will now be a free agent. Smith might actually have a better chance at a role elsewhere, but he’s not currently on the fantasy radar.

The Panthers cut Taylor Heinicke.
After the Panthers added quarterback Will Grier in the third round of this year’s draft, it made it tougher for Heinicke to crack the 53-man roster. Heinicke should find a new team soon.

The Chiefs have waived Kyle Shurmur.
The undrafted rookie put some solid play on tape this preseason, so we’ll see if he can get another shot in the near future. Perhaps he can join someone’s practice squad.
