Join now >Derrick Henry (calf) is running and making cuts.
It was reported that Henry was expected to miss about two weeks with his calf injury, and he’s right around that mark now, so it’s a great sign that he’s running and making cuts despite not yet returning to practice. The Titans are going to take things slow with their monstrous running back to ensure he’s ready for the regular season, but it’d still be nice to see him back out there at full strength soon. Ideally, he’ll return to practice after Tennessee’s second preseason game this Saturday night.

The Texans have acquired Duke Johnson from the Browns.
The Browns have maintained all offseason and summer that they wanted to keep Johnson as a valuable member of their backfield, but it was pretty clearly just them posturing to get the best deal possible in a trade. Johnson wanted out of Cleveland, and he’ll get his wish as he goes to a team that was looking to add another running back to complement starter Lamar Miller. The Texans are trading a 2020 fourth-round draft pick that can become a third-rounder in exchange for Johnson, so they clearly anticipate the fifth-year running back being a big part of their offense this season. Johnson’s fantasy value gets a boost going to Houston, while Nick Chubb’s stock also goes up in Cleveland, as he’ll undoubtedly be a three-down player for the first eight games of the season while Kareem Hunt is suspended.

Noah Fant (ankle) will be ready for Week 1, according to Tom Pelissero.
The injury didn’t look serious on Monday night, but this is still excellent news coming from head coach Vic Fangio. Fant has a ton of upside as a receiver, but his effectiveness as a blocker is what should really excite fantasy owners because it will keep him on the field for an offense that will use plenty of play-action and misdirection to get the rookie in space. The No. 20 overall pick looks like a low-end TE2 option with upside for more.

The Texans signed Jordan Ta’amu.
The former Ole Miss quarterback went undrafted this year, but he’s an intriguing talent that’s getting a nice opportunity with Bill O’Brien in Houston. Ta’amu might get a good amount of playing time with A.J. McCarron currently dealing with a thumb injury that could keep him out for the entire preseason.

Kenyan Drake is in a walking boot.
Drake left yesterday’s practice, and a walking boot isn’t a great sign. Hopefully this is just a precaution and Drake is just day-to-day, but more information should become available soon. Kalen Ballage would get a boost and might become Miami’s clear starter if this is a multi-week injury for Drake.

Ed Dickson undergoes knee surgery.
Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll says the hope is that Dickson is out four-to-five weeks. The team was apparently exploring whether Dickson would need knee surgery, and he’s getting it. Consider the veteran tight end questionable for Week 1 against the Bengals, but Will Dissly is expected to start for Seattle regardless of Dickson’s status.

Mike Evans is dealing with a minor injury.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero says Evans is dealing with a minor quad or groin injury. He will not play in Tampa Bay’s third preseason game, so his preseason is almost certainly done. This doesn’t sound like an issue that’ll put Evans in any jeopardy for Week 1, and you can safely take the big receiver with an early-round pick in fantasy drafts.
