Join now >The Browns signed Braxton Miller.
Miller was waived by the Eagles last week to make room for quarterback Josh McCown. The former Ohio State quarterback-turned-receiver didn’t get a ton of opportunities in Philadelphia, but he’s a very athletic player that has the talent to win a roster spot in Cleveland, even joining the team this late in the summer. Miller shouldn’t be selected in 2019 fantasy drafts at the moment.

The Packers claimed Keith Ford off waivers.
Ford was just waived by the Colts yesterday as a corresponding move to Indianapolis claiming running back D’Onta Foreman. Ford joins a crowded running back room in Green Bay, and it’ll be interesting to see how everyone is used throughout the preseason.

The Seahawks waived Tyrone Swoopes off injured reserve.
Swoopes was previously waived but landed on Seattle’s injured reserve after going unclaimed. Now he’ll become a free agent after coming to an injury settlement with the Seahawks to get off their injured reserve. Swoopes could potentially return to the Seahawks in the future.

Jerick McKinnon (knee) has been removed from the PUP list.
McKinnon will now have some work to put in to overtake Tevin Coleman and Matt Breida in the backfield, but it’s still obviously good to see him back before the team’s first preseason game. “Jet” may not suit up against the Cowboys on Saturday night, but ideally, fantasy owners will get to see him on the field with Coleman and Breida (perhaps in the third preseason game) to get a good idea of how things might look when the games count.

Shane Vereen will work for FOX Sports this year.
Vereen is joining FOX’s college football coverage, according to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post. Perhaps Vereen will make a return to the playing field at some point, but consider him retired for now. Vereen played four seasons for the Patriots and three for the Giants, totaling 356 carries for 1,489 yards and eight touchdowns along with 221 receptions for 1,864 yards and 11 touchdowns. The 2011 second-round pick from Cal also caught 11 passes for 64 yards in the Patriots’ Super Bowl XLIX victory over the Seahawks. We wish Vereen the best of luck with his college football coverage with FOX.

Ezekiel Elliott will not play in 2019 without a new contract, according to ESPN’s Josina Anderson.
Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson said he heard the same from Elliott’s agent yesterday. Keep in mind that Anderson says it is “not likely” the holdout actually continues into the regular season because of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ optimism that a deal gets done. However, if Dallas feels the deal Todd Gurley was given by the Rams is a bad deal and have no desire to give Elliott similar money, and if Elliott insists on being the highest-paid running back in the league, this could certainly drag into the regular season. Something should get done, but hopefully you’re holding your fantasy draft as late as possible so you potentially have a better idea of where Elliott and fellow holdout Melvin Gordon actually stand heading into the regular season.

Golden Tate has lost an appeal of his four-game suspension for violating the NFL policy on performing-enhancing substances.
Tate wasn’t expected to win his appeal, but this news officially keeps him out for the first four games of the regular season. No. 1 receiver Sterling Shepard (thumb) should be cleared for the opener, but Evan Engram and Saquon Barkley should have a bigger role in the passing game to start the year. Tate probably doesn’t need to be drafted in redraft formats because of how many options there are at the position.
