Peyton Barber | Free Agent RB

The Buccaneers re-signed Peyton Barber.

It’s a one-year deal for the 2016 undrafted running back. He’s in a good spot in Bruce Arians’ offense, as he currently sits atop the depth chart as things stand. Tampa Bay is likely to add another running back in the draft, though, and perhaps last year’s second-round pick Ronald Jones will make a big leap forward in his second NFL season. Overall, if Barber ends up as the Bucs starter again, he’d have some upside in the middle rounds of fantasy drafts this summer.

Adrian Peterson | Free Agent RB

Adrian Peterson is re-signing with the Redskins, according to ESPN’s Josina Anderson.

It’s a two-year deal worth $8 million, according to NFL Network, as the 33-year-old remains in a good spot after rushing for 1,042 yards in Washington last season. 2018 second-round pick Derrius Guice, who missed all of last season after suffering a torn ACL in August, will of course be added to the backfield mix this year, but Peterson will still likely have a sizable role for a team that’s going to want to run the ball to make things easier on Case Keenum or Colt McCoy under-center. AD enters 2019 at 13,318 career rushing yards (eighth all-time), and he has a realistic shot at jumping ahead of Jerome Bettis (13,662), LaDanian Tomlinson (13,684), and Curtis Martin (14,101) for fifth all-time on the rushing list this season. In a committee backfield with Guice and Chris Thompson, Peterson will likely be a late-round selection in 2019 fantasy drafts.

Tyrell Williams | Free Agent WR

Tyrell Williams intends to sign with the Raiders, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

This deal can be made official in a couple hours when the new league year officially begins. The Las Vegas Review-Journal’s Michael Gehlken has previously reported that the Raiders were interested in signing Williams in free agency, but that came into question when the team acquired Antonio Brown in a trade with the Steelers. They do indeed have room to add Williams to what’s looking like a formidable receiver group for Derek Carr with Brown, Williams, and Jordy Nelson. Williams will likely stay mostly outside with Nelson and Brown moving around the formation including into the slot, and Oakland might add another slot receiver in the draft. This addition also hurts an AFC West rival, as they’re signing Williams away from the Chargers. Williams’ presence is a boost for the offense overall, but he’ll likely just be a late-round pick with a relatively limited upside in fantasy drafts this summer—though perhaps Jon Gruden will just want to open up the offense and air it out a ton in 2019, which could lead to two or three Oakland wide receivers being solid fantasy options.

Tyrod Taylor | Jets QB

The Chargers agreed to sign Tyrod Taylor to a two-year deal, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Taylor will slide right in as Philip Rivers backup, giving the Chargers one of the best backup quarterback positions in the league. Once the signing becomes official at the start of the new league year in just over four hours, it’ll end the Dolphins’ chances of adding Tyrod Taylor as their bridge quarterback, which had been speculated as a possibility. Hopefully the ultra-durable Rivers stays healthy and it doesn’t happen, but Taylor might be in the fantasy QB1 mix if he had to see game action for a stacked offense.

John Ross | Free Agent WR

The Bengals say they have no plans to trade John Ross.

Bengals Director of Player Personnel Duke Tobin says the team has had no talks internally or externally and no plans to trade the 2017 first-round receiver. This comes a day after NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said the Bengals were shopping Ross, which appears to be totally untrue based on Tobin’s stance. We didn’t think it made much sense for Cincinnati to look at trading the ultra-fast Washington product after he was able to score seven touchdowns last season despite it being another down year overall, and you can expect he’ll remain with the Bengals in 2019. Year 3 is a breakout year for many receivers, and Ross will look to create more big plays down the field after averaging 10.0 yards per reception last season.

Jamize Olawale | Free Agent FB

Jamize Olawale is re-signing with the Cowboys, according to Ian Rapoport.

Olawale was acquired in a trade with the Raiders last offseason, and he will stick around for another year in Dallas after recording two touches in 2018. Turning 30 next month, Olawale’s main responsibility will be blocking for Ezekiel Elliott.

Demetrius Harris | Cardinals TE

Demetrius Harris plans to sign with the Browns, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

This gives Cleveland another target for Baker Mayfield after the team agreed to acquire Odell Beckham Jr. in a trade last night. John Dorsey is familiar with Harris during his time in Kansas City. This deal cannot become official until the start of the new league year this afternoon, but Harris is a big target at six-foot-seven and could have some touchdown upside for the Browns. He’s unlikely to be a reliable fantasy option as long as David Njoku remains healthy.
