Join now >Golden Tate is signing with the Giants.
Fresh off the Odell Beckham Jr. trade to Cleveland, the Giants add one of the top overall remaining players available in free agency to help fill the missing void at the same position. The veteran receiver will be a starter alongside Sterling Shepard, and he should be a good bet for 100+ targets for a sixth straight season in this spot. Tate’s upside will be limited in a passing attack that isn’t expected to be among the best in football, but he should offer a solid floor in the middle-to-late rounds of fantasy drafts this summer. For the Giants, they get an experienced player that’s become a good leader in locker rooms as they look to compete in 2019 with a lot of people counting the team out already in March.

The Raiders released A.J. McCarron, according to multiple reports.
The Raiders just talked about how comfortable they were with their quarterback situation—including McCarron—at the NFL Combine, but they are now moving in another direction. McCarron was due $5 million, and releasing him is zero cap hit, so perhaps Oakland will bring him back at a lesser price. If not, plenty of teams will be interested in signing him as their backup.

The Patriots are signing Bruce Ellington, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Ellington has spent time in San Francisco with Chip Kelly (a friend of Bill Belihick’s) then spent time under former Belichick assistant’s Bill O’Brien and Matt Patricia the last two seasons in Houston and Detroit, so the Patriots probably have a good idea of how he’ll be used. It’s possible Ellington, who had 23 receptions in just four games with the Lions last season, has a big role for New England in 2019, as injuries have really been his only issue throughout his career. This feels like a really good fit, and Ellington could deliver some solid fantasy value this season depending on how the wide receiver depth chart looks for the Patriots.

The Dolphins have signed Clive Walford.
A third-round pick out of Miami in 2015, Walford spent the first three years of his career in Oakland, catching 70 passes for 768 yards and six touchdowns before being cut prior to the 2018 season—which he spent bouncing between the Colts, Jets, and then Colts again, though he didn’t appear in a game. We like Walford’s talent (and he’s still just 27), so perhaps he will get his career on track for his hometown team. That said, he isn’t currently on the fantasy radar.

The Cowboys have agreed to re-sign Tavon Austin, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
Last season, Austin dealt with a groin injury that limited him to seven games during the regular season, but he averaged 17.5 yards per reception and 9.2 yards per carry in limited action. Dallas is going to want to get the ball in the explosive hybrid running back/receiver’s hands, and he could have more of a role in the slot with Cole Beasley signing with the Bills. Austin might have some boom/bust FLEX upside in 2019.

The Jets have released Isaiah Crowell.
The team just signed Le’Veon Bell yesterday, so this was fully expected. Crowell’s one season in New York was up and down, as he had 685 rushing yards on 4.8 yards per carry, but most of the damage came in a ten-carry, 102-yard game in Week 1 and a 15-carry, 219-yard game in Week 5 (which broke a Jets franchise record). He averaged under 3.8 yards per carry in six of his seven other games with ten-plus carries. Crowell is just 26 and will likely draw interest pretty quickly around the league.

The Steelers are re-signing Eli Rogers to a one-year deal, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
With Antonio Brown now in Oakland, Rogers could have a legitimate shot to be a starting wide receiver in the slot for Pittsburgh—Ben Roethlisberger is a fan of Rogers and trusts him, particularly in the slot. The Steelers also signed Donte Moncrief last night, and the two of them will compete along with 2018 second-round pick James Washington and Ryan Switzer for targets behind No. 1 JuJu Smith-Schuster. Pittsburgh’s receiving corps will be one of the most interesting positions to track leading up to this season, but we expect it’ll be Smith-Schuster, Washington, and either Moncrief or Rogers leading the way.
