Breshad Perriman | Free Agent WR

Following the Browns’ acquisition of Odell Beckham Jr., Breshad Perriman will sign with the Buccaneers, according to ESPN.

Perriman was reportedly signing a one-year, $4-million deal with Cleveland, but he will now get the same deal in Tampa Bay instead. From a fantasy perspective, this is likely a better landing spot for the former first-round pick, as he will have a shot at starting alongside Mike Evans and Chris Godwin as a deep threat in Bruce Arians’ offense.

Marlon Mack | Free Agent RB

Marlon Mack is expected to remain a workhorse in 2019.

During the NFL Scouting Combine, Colts head coach Frank Reich said that he “absolutely” sees Mack as a workhorse, adding that he “kind of hit a groove and was doing his thing,” which they plan to build on moving forward. Meanwhile, general manager Chris Ballard called Mack “the guy” in the backfield, according to ESPN. In the five games with 19+ carries last season (including playoffs), Mack had 125+ rushing yards in each of those games, along with eight touchdowns—the Colts have an elite offensive line, but Mack himself was exceptional. So, this isn’t much of a surprise, but it’s still good to hear that Mack is locked in as Indy’s backfield leader. Not a “big name,” Mack will likely be an excellent value in fantasy drafts this summer.

Marcell Ateman | Bills WR

Raiders GM Mike Mayock says Marcell Ateman is the team’s X receiver.

As of today, the big second-year receiver from Oklahoma State is set to enter 2019 as a starter on the outside for Oakland, but Mayock noted the team is looking to add competition (as should be and is the case with the entire roster). Mayock said “we think we can get faster, more athletic.” Jordy Nelson and Ateman are the early favorites to be the team’s top two wide receivers next season, but the Raiders are certainly going to address the position in free agency and/or the draft. They have four of the first 35 picks in the draft, and there’s probably a decent chance they target a receiver with one of those picks. Either way, Ateman must be owned in all dynasty leagues as a potential double-digit touchdown threat in Jon Gruden’s offense.

Odell Beckham Jr. | Free Agent WR

The Browns are acquiring Odell Beckham Jr., according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

This trade cannot become official until the start of the new league year tomorrow at 4:00 PM ET, but this is going to happen. ESPN reports that Cleveland is sending the No. 17 overall pick in this year’s draft, a third-round pick, and safety Jabrill Peppers. Hindsight is 20/20, but it was pretty obvious to us that the Giants regime led by head coach Pat Shurmur and general manager Dave Gettleman didn’t want to put up with Beckham’s antics after they handed him the richest contract for a wide receiver in NFL history (on a per-year basis) only to see him continue to pull of antics like an ESPN interview alongside rapper Lil Wayne in which he criticized two-time Super Bowl winning quarterback Eli Manning. Obviously, this is big news for Baker Mayfield and the Browns, as the offense is stacked with Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt, Jarvis Landry (Beckham’s college teammate at LSU), Antonio Callaway, David Njoku, and now Odell Beckham Jr., whose time in New York ends after five seasons. OBJ had 390 yards, 5476 yards, and 44 touchdowns with the Giants, but his last two seasons were plagued by some injuries. The 26-year-old star receiver will obviously remain a strong WR1 in fantasy on a team with a ton of talent on paper, but keep in mind Mayfield likes to spread the ball around and might not pepper Beckham with targets as much as Eli did. The Giants are moving forward with running back Saquon Barkley as their clear top foundation piece, but they’ll likely be in the market for a wide receiver with a high selection in this year’s draft.

Matt Schaub | Retired QB

The Falcons have signed Matt Schaub to a two-year contract extension.

Schaub hasn’t really seen the field behind Matt Ryan in Atlanta, but he’s undoubtedly a strong presence in the quarterback room as a veteran with playoff experience. The Falcons are unlikely to spend anything other than a late-round pick on a signal-called next month.

Cordarrelle Patterson | Steelers RB

Cordarrelle Patterson intends to sign with the Bears, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Though his playing time on offense appeared to diminish down the stretch, Patterson got a ring as a key member of the Patriots, mostly contributing as an elite kick returner. Patterson now joins Chicago, where he’ll almost certainly handle kick returns, and he’ll be another toy for head coach Matt Nagy to utilize situationally on offense. This is reportedly a two-year, $10 million deal for Patterson, and it can be made official at the start of the new league year tomorrow. Patterson will likely be a better real-life contributor than fantasy asset in 2019.

John Ross | Free Agent WR

The Bengals are shopping John Ross, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

With all teams in Indianapolis to scout and talk to players, the NFL Combine is a good spot for a discussion of potential trades. The new coaching staff in Cincinnati apparently wants to part ways with the ultra-fast third-year receiver, and Rapoport says it sounds like “a fresh start would be welcome by both parties.” While Ross battled injuries and some inconsistency through two seasons, he hauled in seven touchdowns last season as a reliable target in scoring territory—we’re not sure why the team is apparently giving up on him so quickly. There should be plenty of teams interested in the Washington product, and the Bengals can probably get a mid-round pick in return for him.
