Keith Kirkwood | Free Agent WR

Keith Kirkwood scores in playoff win versus the Eagles.

Kirkwood caught two passes for eight yards and a touchdown in the Saints’ Divisional Round victory. The score was on an out-breaking route for New Orleans’ first touchdown of their win. Kirkwood will continue mixing in as one of the Saints’ four top receivers in the NFC title game next weekend against the Rams.

Aaron Rodgers | Free Agent QB

The Packers have officially hired Matt LaFleur as their head coach.

News broke a couple days ago about the pairing, and it’s now official. Most recently Tennessee’s offensive coordinator (2018), LaFleur has quickly risen over the past few years as quarterbacks coach of the Falcons (2015-2016) and offensive coordinator of the Rams (2017) before the one-year stint with the Titans. Now, the 39-year-old is officially the third head coach hire in the 2019 cycle, and he will hope to get the best out of Aaron Rodgers in an offense that the franchise likely expects to resemble what we have seen in Los Angeles over the past two years. There are certainly concerns—most notably, the failure to recognize how good Derrick Henry is before December—but what LaFleur can bring to the passing game is likely what sold the Packers on him. It would be a disappointment if this hiring didn’t last the rest of Rodgers’ career.

Benny Cunningham | Jaguars RB

Benny Cunningham handles one touch in playoff loss.

It was a two-yard carry, and he wasn’t targeted in the passing game. Cunningham now enters unrestricted free agency and will either return to Chicago or look to find work elsewhere as running back depth.

Josh Hill | Retired TE

Josh Hill is in concussion protocol.

Hill took a hit to the head on a 24-yard reception and the officials made him get off the field to get checked out. He’s now in the locker room getting looked at, and hopefully he can clear concussion protocol and get back on the field in the NFC title game.

Nick Foles | Free Agent QB

Nick Foles, Eagles lose a heartbreaker to the Saints, 20-14.

Foles was 18/31 for 201 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions, also adding two carries for zero yards and a score. The Eagles jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, but they unfortunately saw their momentum halted on a fake punt by New Orleans that set up a scoring drive. Then in the second half, the Saints consistently got pressure on Foles, who missed a couple throws, but he ended up driving Philadelphia down for the potential game-winning touchdown before Alshon Jeffery had a pass go off his hands, resulting in a Marshon Lattimore interception. Overall, Foles made big-time plays despite 0 points after the opening quarter, and the Philly quarterback situation will be one of the NFL’s top storylines this offseason. For now, we can probably expect Foles to be elsewhere, and if so, his fantasy value will be largely dependent on his supporting cast.

Jameis Winston | Giants QB

The Buccaneers have officially hired Bruce Arians as their head coach.

Arians—who turns 67 later this year—retired after the 2017 season and joined CBS as a color commentator, but his connection with Tampa Bay general manager Jason Licht is getting him back on the sidelines. A two-time AP NFL Coach of the Year (2012, 2014), Arians went 49-30-1 in five seasons with the Cardinals from 2013 to 2017, and he will be tasked with unlocking Jameis Winston’s potential in Tampa Bay. Besides the relationship with Licht and the fact that Arians has known Jameis since he was a teenager, another selling point was likely the immense offensive talent on the roster, including Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, O.J. Howard, Adam Humphries, and Cameron Brate. This hire is particularly promising news for Godwin, who is a prime trade target in dynasty leagues.

1/8/19 - 09:09 PM ET

Josh Adams | Free Agent RB

Josh Adams gets one touch in Eagles’ playoff win.

Adams gained two yards on his lone attempt against the Bears, as Darren Sproles and Wendell Smallwood dominated the touches in the Eagles backfield. Look for the rookie running back to remain the third option in the backfield in the Divisional Round versus New Orleans.
