Join now >Courtland Sutton scores in Christmas Eve loss to Oakland.
Sutton caught six passes for a team-high 65 yards, including a 19-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter. The play came on a Case Keenum scramble and toss into the end zone that Sutton came away with. The rookie should see plenty of attention next week against the Chargers, but he is worth considering as a low-end WR2/FLEX option to close out the year.

Allen Robinson (ribs) is doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Vikings.
Robinson would almost certainly be playing if it was a playoff game, but with Chicago locked into the No. 3 or No. 2 seed (if they win and the Rams lose to San Francisco), the Penn State product is likely going to rest up for January. Anthony Miller and Taylor Gabriel both get a clear boost as FLEX options, and rookie Javon Wims—if he is active as expected—would be an intriguing option for Week 17, too.

Phillip Lindsay (wrist) will not play in Week 17.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says the wrist injury suffered in last night’s Christmas Eve loss to the Raiders is believed to be serious. This isn’t a surprise, but we’d think Lindsay’s status for offseason training isn’t in much doubt. The undrafted rookie from Colorado had an outstanding season, bursting onto the scene with 192 carries for 1,037 yards and nine touchdowns along with 35 receptions for 241 yards and one touchdown. His 5.4 yards per carry is behind only Aaron Jones (5.5) this season, and he outperformed third-round rookie Royce Freeman throughout the year. Lindsay is currently a top-ten fantasy running back in standard scoring, and he was one of the top waiver-wire pickups or late-round draft selections this year. Looking ahead to 2019, Freeman’s role could increase, but Lindsay is probably the favorite to lead Denver’s backfield.

Sammy Watkins (foot) has officially been ruled out for Week 17.
Watkins didn’t practice all week as he continues to deal with his foot injury. Watkins’ first regular season with the Chiefs ends with 40 receptions for 519 yards and three touchdowns along with five carries for 59 yards in ten games, though it was really like nine games considering he left Week 4 against Denver after just a few plays. If the Chiefs are able to win this Sunday against the Raiders, they’ll clinch the No. 1 seed in the AFC, which would lend more optimism for Watkins’ status when Kansas City begins its playoff run. Watkins gets a bad rap from many “experts” for whatever reason, but he can obviously be a major difference-maker in January.

Sammy Watkins (foot) is not practicing today.
Expect Watkins to be ruled out tomorrow when the final Week 17 injury report is released, but perhaps he’ll surprise and get out to practice in at least a limited fashion to end the week.

Ronald Jones did not play in Week 17.
Jones, a second-round pick (38th overall) from USC, was one of the most curious players/situations in the NFL this season, as he was apparently in the dog house or just not practicing well enough to see the field. He did battle injuries throughout his rookie season, but he was also a healthy scratch a few times and didn’t play well when given opportunities (though there weren’t many of them). Jones’ rookie season ends with 23 carries for 44 yards and one touchdown along with seven receptions for 33 yards in nine games. The hope is that a new coaching staff will spark Jones, who has the ability to have a breakout 2019 season. Tampa Bay’s running back situation is up in the air heading into the offseason.

Odell Beckham Jr. (quad) has officially been ruled out for Week 17.
This will be Beckham’s fourth straight missed game to end the season—the entirety of the fantasy football playoffs for most people. Fantasy owners are certainly disappointed, but the good news is Beckham will be 100% well ahead of offseason training. OBJ’s season ends with 77 receptions for 1,052 yards and six touchdowns along with five carries for 19 yards in 12 games. His 87.7 receiving yards per game were his highest in a season since his second NFL season in 2015, and he made explosive plays (17 plays of 20+ yards) despite some offensive struggles during the year. With one of the league’s best offensive coaches in Pat Shurmur in an offense that should be on the rise, Beckham will obviously be one of the better wide receiver selections in 2019 fantasy drafts. Don’t be surprised if trade rumors continue to swirl throughout the offseason after an up-and-down attitude and relationship with Shurmur in their first season together, though.
