Join now >Chris Johnson has announced his retirement from the NFL.
Johnson, who made the announcement on his Instagram page (linked below), spent 2008-2013 with the Titans, 2014 with the Jets, and 2015-2017 with the Cardinals. Of course, “CJ2K” made a name for himself in Tennessee as a first-round pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, and he set an NFL record for 2,509 yards from scrimmage (which still stands) in 2009 on his way to the rushing title, NFL Offensive Player of the Year award, and First-Team All-Pro selection. Johnson made the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons, and he finished his career with 2,163 carries for 9,651 yards (4.5 YPC) and 55 touchdowns, also adding 307 receptions for 2,255 yards and nine touchdowns as a receiver. The historic 2009 season was one of the best in NFL history for a running back, as he rushed 358 times for 2,006 yards and 14 touchdowns. He might not have been a top-end player for a long enough period of time, but peak CJ2K was probably dominant enough that he at least could make a case for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

James White scores twice in Patriots’ win.
White capped New England’s hyper-speed first drive with a touchdown, then he added another later in yet another excellent game for himself personally and for the team. He had 12 carries for 31 yards and a touchdown along with six receptions for 72 yards. Cordarrelle Patterson’s effectiveness as a runner is taking some work away from White, but the Super Bowl LI hero is still a great fantasy option every single week.

Devontae Booker handles five touches in loss to the Texans.
Booker rushed three times for 15 yards and a touchdown, also adding two carries for nine yards. The third-year back fumbled in the first half to set up a short field for one of Houston’s touchdowns, but he bounced back with a 14-yard score just a couple possessions later. Booker should remain involved with Royce Freeman (ankle) expected to return after Denver’s Week 10 bye, but he’s nothing more than a FLEX option in deeper leagues.

Keenan Allen totals 152 yards versus the Seahawks.
Allen was involved early and often for the Chargers in their Week 9 win, catching six passes (on ten targets) for 124 yards along with two carries for 28 yards. The second-highest receiving total for the team was 30 yards, so Allen was clearly the top option for Philip Rivers throughout the afternoon. Allen is looking for his first touchdown since Week 1, though, but he’s still on pace for 94 receptions, 1,260 yards, and two touchdowns this season. He’ll look to get in the end zone against the Raiders in Week 10.

Geronimo Allison may need core muscle surgery.
Packers head coach Mike McCarthy says Allison is dealing with a serious injury, so it sounds like his season is in danger. Allison is seeing a specialist, and the timeline should become more clear in the coming days. Allison is almost certainly going to miss multiple games with this injury.

Jimmy Graham scores in loss to the Patriots.
Graham caught four passes (on six targets) for 55 yards, including a 15-yard touchdown in the second half. It was just the second trip to the end zone for Graham as a Packer, and he’s now on pace for a 64/850/4 line at the season’s midway point. Look for the 31-year-old to get a streak going when the Dolphins come to town next Sunday. Consider him a solid TE1.

Mike Davis gets 22 touches against the Chargers.
Chris Carson left the game with a hip injury, which gave Davis an opportunity to be the top guy in Seattle’s backfield. Davis carried 15 times for 62 yards and added seven receptions for 45 yards in the Week 9 loss. Overall, he played well, and he’d be a starting fantasy option if Carson misses more time with the injury. But there would be some risk with first-round rookie Rashaad Penny potentially taking the lead in the backfield if Seattle wants to give him a crack at it.
