Join now >Davante Adams scores in 31-17 loss to the Patriots.
Adams caught six-of-nine targets for 40 yards, including a two-yard touchdown on an off-script play. The 25-year-old was shadowed by Stephon Gilmore for most of the night, but fantasy owners should take the score in a tough draw. At the season’s midway point, Adams is on pace for a 116/1,460/14 line, so he’s obviously lived up to expectations for those who drafted him early on over the summer. He doesn’t get the recognition that others do at the position, but Adams should be considered an excellent WR1 for Week 10 against Miami.

Doug Baldwin leads the Seahawks in Week 9 receiving.
Baldwin was targeted four times against the Chargers, catching all four targets for 77 yards. It was Baldwin’s second-highest receiving total of the season through six games played. He’s probably a good bet for more targets next week against the Rams after catching all four against the Chargers, but Baldwin was limited to one reception for one yard against the Rams in their first matchup of the season.

Mike Williams scores in Chargers’ win.
Williams caught one pass, but he made it count with a 30-yard touchdown on a back-shoulder pass where he broke a tackle and showed great balance on the sideline before getting in the end zone for six. It appeared Williams stepped out, but the play was surprisingly upheld after replay review. Through eight games, the second-year receiver is on pace for 36 receptions, 676 yards, and ten touchdowns. Next week against the Raiders is a good bet for the big Clemson product to get into the end zone again.

Geronimo Allison is expected to have surgery on a core muscle injury, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Head coach Mike McCarthy told reporters that Allison had seen a specialist, and it sounds like he will undergo surgery that puts his season in jeopardy. Rapoport says that the recovery is roughly six weeks, so perhaps Allison can either avoid injured reserve or be a candidate to return if he’s placed on IR. The news makes Marquez Valdes-Scantling an excellent add in all leagues that he’s still available in, and Randall Cobb should be locked into a significant role the rest of the way as Green Bay looks to turn things around at 3-4-1.

Kenjon Barner gets one carry against the Packers.
Barner gained four yards on his lone Week 9 rushing attempt. Cordarrelle Patterson has emerged as an excellent option at running back during Sony Michel’s absence, and Barner hasn’t gotten many opportunities. He’s more of a real-life contributor than a fantasy option right now.

Rashaad Penny gets seven touches versus the Chargers.
Penny carried four times for 11 yards and added three receptions (on three targets) for 13 yards in the Seahawk’s Week 9 loss. Despite Chris Carson leaving the game with a hip injury, Penny didn’t receive a ton of work behind Mike Davis (22 touches) in the backfield. Penny would not be a highly-recommended fantasy option even if Carson misses more time with his hip injury.

Alfred Blue leads the team in carries as Houston wins sixth game in a row.
Blue rushed 15 times for 39 yards in the victory, as starter Lamar Miller (12 carries for 21 yards) wasn’t able to get going on his touches. The LSU product shouldn’t be owned heading into the bye week, but Sunday’s split is something to keep in mind down the stretch, particularly in deeper leagues.
