Cooper Kupp | Seahawks WR

Cooper Kupp catches clutch 41-yard touchdown in return, but Rams pick up first loss of the season.

Kupp caught five passes for 89 yards, with the highlight coming on a 41-yard score in the fourth quarter to tie the game (combined with a two-point conversion). The Rams had trailed 35-14 in the first half, but Kupp’s catch-and-run on a simple crossing pattern brought them all the way back before New Orleans pulled away on a 72-yard touchdown by Michael Thomas to seal the win, 45-35. Hopefully fantasy owners didn’t waste time getting Kupp back in lineups; he should be a great WR2 the rest of the way, including next Sunday against the Seahawks.

Christian McCaffrey | 49ers RB

Christian McCaffrey totals 157 yards in Week 9 victory.

McCaffrey rushed 17 times for 79 yards and two touchdowns, also adding five catches for a team-high 78 yards as a receiver. It was a tremendous day for the Stanford product, who scored from three yards away in the first quarter after being “vultured” by fullback Alex Armah on the previous possession, and he then scored a one-yard touchdown later in the half. At the season’s midway point, McCaffrey is on pace for 1,760 total yards and ten total touchdowns with some potential shootouts—including on Thursday night against the Steelers—down the stretch. He’s arguably a top-five play in all formats.

11/5/18 - 11:15 AM ET

Mark Ingram | Free Agent RB

Mark Ingram gets ten touches against the Rams.

Ingram carried nine times for 33 yards along with one reception for three yards and a fumble lost in the Saints’ Week 9 win. The lost fumble came in the first half, and Ingram got his arm wrapped after, but he’s probably fine and might have been more frustrated about the fumble than anything. Alvin Kamara had 116 yards and three touchdowns in the game, and Ingram hasn’t made a huge impact for fantasy owners since his two-touchdown performance in his first game of the season after his four-game suspension. He’ll look to get going next week against the Bengals.

11/5/18 - 12:47 PM ET

Dalvin Cook | Free Agent RB

Dalvin Cook shows he’s healthy in Week 9.

Cook was said to be on a snap count in his first game back after missing the last four games with a hamstring injury, but he immediately received a good amount of work against the Lions, carrying ten times for 89 yards and adding four receptions for 20 yards. Keep in mind Cook might lose a couple of points on a stat correction after a dropped pitch was credited as a lost fumble to Kirk Cousins. The highlight of the day for Cook was a 70-yard run where he showed his speed and acceleration doesn’t appear to be limited—and he nearly scored but was tripped up a few yards short of the goal line. This was great to see as the Vikings enter the bye, and now Cook should return and be at least an RB1/RB2 option down the stretch. The only concern is Latavius Murray has been exceptional in Cook’s absence and might take a dozen touches per game himself, including goal-line work.

11/5/18 - 11:13 AM ET

Brandin Cooks | Saints WR

Brandin Cooks caught six passes for 114 yards and one touchdown in Sunday’s loss to the Saints.

Cooks caught a four-yard score in the first half, and he made plays all game to lead the team in receptions and yards. The versatile deep threat in on pace for an 82/1,514/6 line through eight healthy appearances, and he will get a chance for revenge against the Seahawks after being knocked out with a concussion in their first meeting last month. Consider Cooks a high-upside WR1/WR2 option down the stretch.

11/5/18 - 12:43 PM ET

Cam Newton | Free Agent QB

Cam Newton, Panthers stay hot as they hold off the Bucs, 42-28.

Newton was 19/25 for 247 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions, also adding 11 carries for 33 yards. It wasn’t a huge day for Cam as Christian McCaffrey dominated with 157 yards and two scores, but he’s still playing some of the best football of his career in Norv Turner’s offense, and Carolina quietly sits at 6-2. Newton is on pace for 3,786 yards with a 30:8 touchdown-interception ratio through the air at the season’s midway point, also chipping in 342 yards and four scores on the ground so far. Cam should be considered an elite QB1 for what should be a tremendous game against the Steelers on Thursday night.

11/5/18 - 11:11 AM ET

Alvin Kamara | Saints RB

Alvin Kamara scores three touchdowns in Saints’ win.

In a huge game with potential NFC playoff seeding ramifications, the Saints unleashed Kamara early and often against the Rams. Kamara had 19 carries for 82 yards and two touchdowns along with four receptions for 34 yards and a touchdown. His first score was on an 11-yard toss where he showed great patience, his second was on an out route where he basically walked in for 16 yards, and the third was on a goal-line carry at the end of the first half. Mark Ingram received ten touches in the game compared to Kamara’s 23. Through eight games, the second-year running back is on pace for 222 carries, 980 rushing yards, 18 rushing touchdowns, 102 receptions, 854 receiving yards, and six receiving touchdowns. He’ll likely make a push for a 1,000/1,000 season in the second half.
