Smith caught two passes for 23 yards and a touchdown, with the score coming on a four-yard slant where he ran a nice route to set up the defender and give Drew Brees some space inside to throw an accurate ball. The rookie is the No. 2 wide receiver for the Saints, but he’s not getting quite enough looks to be a highly-recommended fantasy option yet.

C.J. Anderson handles one touch in win over the Bucs.
It was a one-yard carry. The veteran back isn’t a recommended fantasy option with Christian McCaffrey healthy. Carolina takes on Pittsburgh on Thursday night to kick off Week 10.

Benjamin Watson scores in Week 9.
Watson had three receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown in the Saints’ win over the Rams, with the score coming on a 13-yard reception on a dime from Drew Brees after a play-action fake. After the touchdown, Watson did a touchdown celebration to announce he and his wife were having twins, which was pretty cool. The veteran tight end faces the Bengals next week, and he has some TE1 appeal given that he’s playing well. But there’s also a zero-point floor to consider.

Kyle Rudolph catches both targets against the Lions.
Rudolph gained 28 yards on his two Week 9 receptions. He also appeared to have a touchdown on a fumble recovery in the end zone, but it was later deemed that Latavius Murray was across the goal line himself before losing the ball. Rudolph has standard fantasy point totals of 3, 1, 3, and 2 over the last four weeks, so he’s difficult to trust in fantasy lineups right now. The Vikings have a Week 10 bye anyway, so you’ll need to find another option for your TE spot.

Malcolm Brown scores highlight touchdown in Week 9 loss.
Brown took an outlet pass by Jared Goff for an 18-yard score where he somehow half-hurdled two defenders and kept his balance on the sidelines before extending for the pylon. It was the 25-year-old’s only touch of the game, but he continues to impress when given opportunities behind Todd Gurley. Still, Brown is just a premium handcuff heading into Week 1o.

D.J. Moore handles two touches in win over the Buccaneers.
Moore rushed once for 32 yards and caught one-of-two targets for 16 yards. It was a slightly disappointing day after the rookie went off for 129 yards last week, but his big-play potential keeps him on the FLEX radar heading into a probably shootout against the Steelers. At the season’s midway point, Moore—despite just 26 touches—is on pace for 828 total yards.

Michael Thomas puts up career-high in receiving against the Rams.
Thomas caught 12 passes (on 15 targets) for 211 yards and one touchdown—a 71-yarder on a deep ball to put the Saints up two possessions with under four minutes remaining. Unfortunately, Thomas pulled a cell phone out of the bottom of the goal post to pay homage to former Saints receiver Joe Horn doing a phone-call touchdown celebration in 2003, drawing an unsportsmanlike penalty that fortunately didn’t cost his team. The 211 yards was a Saints franchise record, and a lot of it came against struggling Rams cornerback Marcus Peters. Thomas is on pace for an insane 140 receptions, 1,760 yards, and ten touchdowns through eight games.
