Join now >The Bills signed quarterback Derek Anderson.
There was a lot of talk about this happening soon, and the Bills have officially added the veteran quarterback to their young QB room. The addition of Anderson is great for rookie Josh Allen, and great for second-year quarterback Nathan Peterman, for that matter. Anderson is obviously off the fantasy radar, but his experience and guidance will help Allen as he develops as Buffalo’s franchise quarterback.

Chris Thompson (knee) did not return in Week 5.
Thompson left the game in the second half and was called questionable to return in a 43-19 loss. The dynamic running back finished with eight carries for 17 yards while chipping in six receptions for 45 yards through the air. It wasn’t the night that would have been expected with the Redskins trailing throughout, but the Saints simply dominated. Hopefully Thompson—who is on pace for exactly 1,200 total yards this season through four games—is going to be OK for Week 6 against the Panthers, but we’ll provide an update when it’s available.

An MRI is coming on Adrian Peterson’s shoulder.
Peterson had his shoulder/arm area heavily wrapped in middle of last night’s game, and that could be what limited him in the second half of the blowout loss to the Saints. AD says it’s a separated shoulder, but the MRI will show the extent of the damage and could indicate how much time Peterson will miss. Hopefully the injury isn’t too serious, and we’ll update you are more information becomes available.

Mark Ingram II scores twice in his first game of 2018.
Coming off his four-game suspension, Ingram returned to the lineup and was the clear lead ball-carrier for the Saints, carrying 16 times for 53 yards and two touchdowns along with two receptions for 20 yards. Both scores came by the goal line, which is obviously a positive sign for his fantasy outlook. Alvin Kamara (nine touches) will certainly be a bigger part of the offense most weeks, but Ingram looks set to assume RB1/RB2 value again this season.

Austin Carr caught two passes for 17 yards in Monday night’s win over the Redskins.
Carr opened the season as the Saints’ No. 3 receiver, but it looks like he could return from the Week 6 bye as the No. 5 wideout with Cameron Meredith seeing more playing time, Ted Ginn probably getting healthy, and Tre’Quan Smith emerging. Carr has five receptions for 62 yards so far this year.

Drew Brees breaks NFL’s all-time passing yardage mark in Saints’ blowout win.
On a night where Brees entered the game 201 yards short of Peyton Manning’s all-time yardage mark (71,940) and seemed destined to break it, he had an outstanding game, going 26/29 for 363 yards and three touchdowns. Brees was ultra-accurate all over the field, and the record-breaker was a 62-yard strike to a wide-open Tre’Quan Smith at the end of the first half. The future Hall of Famer was mic’d up during the game, and it was a cool moment to see the celebration with his teammates, coaches, and family. Brees is a class act and a great person to break a record like this; congratulations to him on yet another huge accomplishment. The Saints have a bye this week, but Brees will remain a QB1 option even in a tough matchup with the Ravens in Week 7.

Josh Hill scores in win over the Redskins.
Hill caught two passes for 24 yards, including a one-yard touchdown in the first quarter. The 28-year-old is always a threat to find the end zone with Sean Payton scheming plays, but he isn’t a recommended fantasy option when the Saints return from their Week 6 bye.
