Join now >Matt Breida (ankle) will be doubtful for Week 6.
The Niners play next Monday night against the Packers, so their first practice of the week isn’t until Thursday. Breida will not practice then, and the team says he will be doubtful for the game. San Francisco is expected to bring in another running back, but for now expect Alfred Morris to be a potential 20-touch guy in Week 6. Perhaps Breida will push to play, but expect him to miss the game one week from tonight.

Josh Doctson (heel) is inactive against the Saints.
Doctson injured his heel when the Redskins returned from the bye week, and the team expressed pessimism about his status for tonight. Maurice Harris could be asked to step up with Doctson out, but he’s not a highly-recommended fantasy option for Week 6.

Giants head coach Pat Shurmur says Evan Engram (knee) “has a shot” this week.
The Giants play on Thursday night against the Eagles, but the second-year tight end might be able to give it a go. We’ll monitor Engram’s status the next few days leading up to Thursday night. Even if Engram is out this week, his status looks good moving forward.

The Titans waived Dalyn Dawkins.
Dawkins was added to the roster a few weeks ago, but he did not receive any carries. If Dawkins clears waivers, he’ll likely land on the practice squad.

The Eagles have placed Jay Ajayi (knee) on injured reserve.
Ajayi suffered a torn ACL, according to reports, ending his season. This is a surprise, as Ajayi seemed fine during and after yesterday’s loss to the Vikings, and he even questioned why the team wasn’t running the ball more like he expected to continue playing this season. Ajayi’s season ends with 45 carries for 184 yards and three touchdowns along with five receptions for 20 yards in four games, and it’s a tough break for a guy that’s set to become a free agent after the season. This injury could lead to a trade for Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell, a move that some have speculated the Eagles might make even with Ajayi. For now, expect Wendell Smallwood, who has ran the ball well this season, and Corey Clement to lead Philadelphia’s backfield with Darren Sproles (if healthy) and undrafted rookie Josh Adams mixing in.

The Cardinals signed Kendall Wright.
Wright was with the Vikings during the summer and now he lands in Arizona, the Vikings’ opponent this Sunday. Even Larry Fitzgerald is difficult to trust in fantasy lineups as a Cardinals pass catcher at this point, so Wright can be ignored for fantasy purposes.

Matt Breida’s ankle injury is not serious.
According to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area, the MRI on Breida was negative, and his injury is considered more of a mid-ankle sprain. This is much better news than something like a high-ankle sprain, and Breida should have a good chance of playing next Monday night against the Packers. However, there’s a chance Breida is a game-time decision, in which case fantasy owners will be put in a bind if they don’t have any backup option from the Monday night game. We’ll monitor Breida’s status throughout this week.
