Join now >Chris Hogan caught three passes for 34 yards in Thursday night’s win over the Colts.
Hogan led New England’s receivers in snaps with everyone at full strength for the first time in 2018, but it looks like Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, and James White are the favorites for Tom Brady. The only target that Hogan didn’t bring in bounced off his hands and was intercepted, but the snap count was definitely encouraging for those holding out hope for Hogan, and we think he should remain rostered in all leagues. Next week could be a blowup spot against Kansas City’s suspect secondary.

Josh Gordon scores first touchdown as a Patriot in 38-24 victory over Indianapolis.
Gordon caught two passes for 50 yards, including a 34-yard score in the fourth quarter. The former Brown was quiet for much of the night, but Tom Brady threw it up to him in double coverage, and Gordon came away with the ball by simply tracking it better than the Colts defenders did. Right now, it doesn’t look like the superstar talent is going to turn into a weekly WR1 as he learns the offense on a depth chart with other capable options, but Gordon has plenty of upside, including next Sunday night against the Chiefs.

Robert Turbin doesn’t receive a touch in Colts’ loss.
In Turbin’s first game back from his four-game suspension, he didn’t receive many snaps on offense, working behind rookies Nyheim Hines and Jordan Wilkins. Turbin was targeted once on a pass that was thrown in the ground on a screen pass; he was also in the game on Indianapolis’ final offensive play, lined up as the tailback in a goal-line formation, but it was a play-action pass. Overall, Turbin is not a recommended fantasy option right now.

Julian Edelman makes his season debut in 38-24 win over the Colts.
Edelman caught seven passes for 57 yards and ranked second on the team with nine targets. The 32-year-old was involved immediately with a couple grabs on his first drive since the 2016 season, but he dropped a chunk play down the sideline and was taken out for a goal-line touchdown pass that went to Cordarrelle Patterson. Still, Edelman showed his usual chemistry with Tom Brady, and he looks like a safe WR2 in all formats heading into a matchup with the Chiefs.

Zach Pascal struggles in Week 5.
Many of the Colts receivers struggled, but Pascal hauled in just one of his seven targets against the Patriots, gaining 12 yards on his lone reception. He also had a drop that popped into the air and was intercepted in the second half. After a strong showing last week, the 2017 undrafted free agent will look to bounce back next week against the Jets.
10/4/18 - 11:57 PM ET
Marcus Johnson catches both targets in Week 5.
Johnson received a good amount of playing time toward the end of tonight’s game, gaining 26 yards on his two receptions. Johnson remains a dynasty-league option, but he’s not a recommended option in standard re-draft leagues.
10/4/18 - 11:55 PM ET
Erik Swoope scores against the Patriots.
Swoope caught a red-zone touchdown when he got inside position on Patriots safety Devin McCourty, who did not have a good night in coverage. Swoope, who was called up from the practice squad for this game, also had a 26-yard reception that looked like a touchdown at the end of the game, but his knee was down at the half-yard-line. On the next play, the Colts ran a play designed for Eric Ebron, who was wide open after a play-action fake, so that was bad luck for Swoope. Overall, Swoope had three receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown. He’s not an advisable fantasy option at the moment.
