Join now >Jimmy Garoppolo officially suffered a torn ACL, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
This was the expectation yesterday, and unfortunately the tests confirmed the news. Obviously, this is a huge blow for the Niners, as Garoppolo is the team’s leader and franchise player. Jimmy G’s season ends with a 59.6% completion percentage, 718 yards, five touchdowns, and three interceptions in three games (with the three interceptions coming against an elite Minnesota defense to open the season). Garoppolo will now have plenty of time to rehab and should be 100% well ahead of the start of next season. The Niners should be stronger around Garoppolo in 2019, and he’ll offer obvious QB1 potential as one of the league’s best quarterbacks. C.J. Beathard, who gained valuable experience as a rookie last season and showed major flashes, is the next man up for San Francisco.

Brandon Marshall catches two passes against the Cowboys.
Marshall gained 30 yards on his two receptions, including a long of 27 yards on one of the best throws you will ever see (basically an extended handoff by Russell Wilson). The veteran receiver is a touchdown-dependent FLEX option next week against the Cardinals.

Kenny Golladay scores in Week 3 win.
The touchdown came on a crossing route in the second quarter against Stephon Gilmore from four yards out, and Golladay finished with six receptions for 53 yards and the score. An elite downfield threat as a rookie, Golladay has produced this season without even catching a pass of more than 30 yards, which has to be extremely encouraging for both the Lions and fantasy owners. He remains a high-upside FLEX option for Week 4 against the Cowboys.

Rashaad Penny gets three carries in Week 3.
Penny gained five yards on his three attempts, and he did not have a reception. Meanwhile, Chris Carson had 32 carries and 34 touches overall, as the Seahawks finally committed to feeding him the ball. Things could change quickly for whatever reason, but the first-round pick is clearly currently behind Carson for touches in Seattle’s backfield.

T.J. Jones catches one pass against the Patriots.
Jones gained four yards on his lone reception in the Week 3 win. Jones is a very good fourth receiver for Detroit, but he obviously cannot be trusted in fantasy lineups with Marvin Jones, Kenny Golladay, and Golden Tate all healthy.

Jared Goff, Rams keep rolling in 35-23 win over the Chargers.
Goff was 29/36 for 354 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception in the Battle for Los Angeles, also rushing three times for 14 yards. Besides an underthrown interception that Derwin James made a play on in the end zone, Goff was excellent on Sunday, connecting with Robert Woods (twice) and Cooper Kupp for scores. The highlight was an absolute dime to Kupp on a 53-yard touchdown strike in which he navigated the pocket to hit the second-year wideout in stride, and he also had an unbelievable throw to Robert Woods on the sidelines later in the game. For whatever reason, people thought Goff would take a step back this season, but he’s shown no signs of that with 354 passing yards in each of the past two weeks. Even against the Vikings on Thursday night, Goff is worth considering at home, and it would be unwise to drop him with the schedule lightening up considerably starting in Week 5.

Luke Willson catches two passes in Week 3.
Willson gained ten yards on his two receptions, and he was targeted on a Matthew Stafford interception in the second half. The interception actually might have been a long gain for Willson if Stafford lofted the pass instead of firing it, but Willson remains difficult to trust in fantasy lineups.
