Matt Forte handles ten touches in Week 8 loss.

Forte rushed four times for just seven yards, but he caught six passes for 45 yards in a rainy contest. The veteran has 19 receptions over the past three weeks, but he’s still yet to top nine carries in a game this season. Forte is seeing enough work as an underneath receiver to warrant consideration in PPR leagues, but he’s just a decent FLEX option. The Jets host the Bills on Thursday night.

Bryce Treggs handles two touches in Week 7 loss.

The wide receiver caught a 19-yard pass and rushed once for six yards. He isn’t a fantasy option, but it’s good to at least see Treggs somewhat involved, including as a punt returner.

Joe Flacco leaves game after taking brutal hit.

This was one of the worst hits you’ll ever see anyone take, as Flacco scrambled on a third down and was sprinting full speed to try and get a first down, and Dolphins linebacker Kiko Alonso drilled him as he slid feet first. Flacco’s helmet flew off and he immediately looked extremely dazed and went to the locker room for concussion evaluation. Some might call it a dirty hit by Alonso, but it’s tough to stop when you’re going full speed trying to stop someone else going full speed from getting a first. It’d be a major surprise if Flacco returned to the game after taking this hit. Ryan Mallett is now in the game at quarterback with the team up 13-0 on Miami. Flacco was 10/15 for 101 yards and a touchdown on a dime throw to Jeremy Maclin for 34 yards before leaving.

Bilal Powell (calf) is not on the Week 7 injury report.

Powell practiced fully the last two days and is ready to go against the Dolphins. His return complicates the backfield situation for the Jets, as it’ll likely go back to being a three-way committee with Powell, Matt Forte, and rookie Elijah McGuire. They’re all in the FLEX conversation with low floors.

T.J. Yeldon plays great in his first action of 2017.

The 2015 second-round pick has been inactive for each of the first six games this season, but he finally got his opportunity with Leonard Fournette out with an ankle injury, and he made the most of it. Yeldon carried nine times for 122 yards and a touchdown while adding two receptions for 15 yards receiving. Yeldon’s touchdown was a 58-yard run up the middle where he showed great vision and broke it to the left before diving in the end zone for a touchdown. It’s really great to see someone that no doubt must be frustrated while sitting on the sidelines and watching all season to make a big impact when finally given a chance. Perhaps he’ll continue being active when Fournette returns from his ankle injury in Week 9.

Andre Ellington (quad) is questionable for Sunday against the Rams.

Ellington was limited on Wednesday before not practicing yesterday and today, so he appears to be very iffy for Sunday. The Cardinals do play in the 1:00 PM ET games, as they are in London for a night game, so you’ll have clarity by 11:30 AM ET. With Adrian Peterson now in the mix, Ellington would only be a FLEX option in deeper PPR leagues.

Donte Moncrief doesn’t catch a pass in Week 8.

The contract-year receiver simply wasn’t targeted by Jacoby Brissett in the game, and it appears his role is not big enough to have any fantasy value right now. Through eight games, Moncrief is on pace for 36 receptions, 542 yards, and two touchdowns—not at all close to what he’d like to be doing as he approaches free agency after the year.
