Join now >The Lions released Jesse James.
This is in line with a bunch of moves made around the league this week, with many veterans getting cut to create cap space. For now, James is off the fantasy radar in standard leagues.

Mark Ingram has agreed to a one-year deal with the Texans, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Ingram knows head coach David Culley from their time together in Baltimore, but this is still a somewhat curious signing with David Johnson already sticking around for 2021. Both veteran runners have a three-down skillset, so look for the backfield to be a two-headed committee so long as Houston doesn’t draft a running back before Day 3 in next month’s draft (which we wouldn’t expect them to do).

The Cowboys release Jamize Olawale.
Olawale opted out of last season, and now he’ll be free to sign with another team. The versatile fullback can also contribute on special teams.

The Ravens have tendered Gus Edwards at the second-round level.
Baltimore had a somewhat easy decision to bring back their bruising runner as a complement to J.K. Dobbins in 2021, and the rushing attack should be set with Justice Hill also potentially seeing an increased role with Mark Ingram gone. Especially if the Ravens are able to get a top wideout to open things up, Edwards will likely be an underrated FLEX in fantasy drafts this summer.

Washington has tendered Kyle Allen as an exclusive rights free agent.
Allen was expected back in Washington next season, and the team now has both him and Taylor Heinicke currently on the quarterback depth chart ahead of the new league year. Unless the team is able to find a way to acquire a big-time option via free agency, trade, or the draft, there is a decent chance the reigning NFC East champions will have an open quarterback battle this summer.

Christian McCaffrey restructured his contract.
Linebacker Shaq Thompson also restructured his deal to help the Panthers create more cap space with the decrease in the salary cap this year. If there was any question of McCaffrey’s status in Carolina (he’s been speculated as a potential part of a trade for Deshaun Watson) this ends it. Expect a determined McCaffrey this season after injuries plagued him in 2020.

The Bills released John Brown.
Brown wrote on Instagram thanking the Buffalo for the past two years. This move is somewhat of a surprise considering Brown’s fit in the Bills receiving corps, but this move will save the team several million dollars in a tight year for the salary cap. Buffalo is expected to target the tight end position during free agency, but perhaps another wide receiver (Nelson Agholor and Curtis Samuel come to mind as potential fits) will be a target. Brown should not have much trouble landing with a new team.
