Hill is being released along with Jared Cook, as the Saints get set to feature second-year tight end Adam Trautman at the position. Hill might land back with New Orleans at some point given his familiarity with the team.

The Saints released Jared Cook.
Cook was set to become an unrestricted free agent at the start of the new league year, but the Saints have opted to release him early, basically confirming that he won’t be back with New Orleans next season. The veteran tight end should draw a good amount of interest from around the league.

Tyrell Williams is signing a one-year deal with the Lions, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The deal can reportedly be up to $6.2 million, so Williams is getting a nice prove-it deal after being released by Las Vegas. The Lions currently have a wide open depth chart (depending on the status of Kenny Golladay and the potential use of the franchise tag), which should give the veteran a very good shot at opening 2021 as a starter. Detroit is expected to be built-around a run-first offense, but Williams’ downfield skillset combined with Jared Goff’s effectiveness on play-action shots could lead to some big weeks. It should also be noted that Williams has familiarity with offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn from their time together with the Chargers.

Delanie Walker plans to play in 2021.
Walker opted out of last season due to COVID-19 while also allowing himself to get closer to full health. The veteran tight end struggled with injuries over his previous two seasons, but he went over 800 receiving yards every year from 2014-2017 while also making three consecutive Pro Bowls. Walker shouldn’t have much trouble landing with a new team this offseason.

The Vikings are releasing Kyle Rudolph, according to NFL Network.
Rudolph had wanted to play his entire career with the Vikings, but he’ll need to join another franchise if he wants to continue playing at 31 years old. The second-round pick in the 2011 draft caught 453 passes for 4,488 yards and 48 touchdowns in ten seasons with Minnesota, making two Pro Bowls during that span. Rudolph should draw a good amount of interest as a free agent this offseason.

The Texans restructured David Johnson’s contract, according to multiple reports.
Houston wanted to keep Johnson in the fold, but they wanted to bring down his salary. The former All-Pro running back obliged (getting more guaranteed money but a lower salary), and he’s set to again lead the Texans backfield in 2021. DJ showed major flashes of the talent that makes him so intriguing last season, and he averaged a career-high in yards per carry (4.7) despite playing on a struggling 4-12 team. Johnson will turn 30 in December.

The Texans released Josh McCown.
This isn’t a surprise for the veteran quarterback, who is expected to get into coaching soon after he was a reserve option for the Eagles and Texans during the COVID-impacted season last year. Many believe McCown is a future head coach.
