Sammy Watkins (hamstring) was officially limited in today’s practice.

Watkins hasn’t practiced for a few weeks, so this is a good sign as he looks to make his return to the lineup this Sunday against the Panthers. Ideally, Watkins will be able to get up to a full practice status by Friday.

The Patriots signed Donte Moncrief to the practice squad.

The veteran receiver could quickly move up to the active roster if all goes well in practice and he forms a connection with Cam Newton. For this week, it’s possible he gives some small insight on New England’s Week 9 opponent after spending time with the Jets earlier this year.

Matthew Stafford was a “close contact” to someone with COVID-19.

The high-risk close contact to Stafford was from Monday, and it was not a team member. So while Stafford was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list, he has not yet tested positive for the virus. With negative tests leading up to Sunday, Stafford can still potentially play against the Vikings if all goes well.

Mitchell Trubisky (shoulder) will miss a few weeks.

Trubisky entered the game for one play and handled a zone-read last Sunday against the Saints, and unluckily he was injured on the play. This isn’t a huge deal from a fantasy perspective, with Chicago locked in with Nick Foles at quarterback.

Alvin Kamara indicates that he stubbed his toe.

Kamara will be back at practice tomorrow, and his Week 9 status is not in serious doubt. You should be able to safely lock in the star running back as an elite RB1 even in a tough matchup against the Bucs.

Dante Pettis has been claimed by the Giants.

It’s no surprise that the former second-round pick was claimed, and New York was one of the first teams with a shot to get him. The top three wideouts for the Giants are locked in for the rest of the year (Darius Slayton, Sterling Shepard, and Golden Tate), but they’ll hope Pettis can develop into a difference-maker with a chance of scenery.

Matthew Stafford has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Stafford had a false positive in the summer, but now he’s being placed on the list, and it’s unclear if he’s contracted the virus or been in contact with someone who has. This news is obviously a downgrade for Detroit’s passing attack on Sunday, and Chase Daniel will likely draw at the start against Minnesota assuming Stafford isn’t cleared to play.
