Bruce Miller | Jaguars FB

Bruce Miller is being suspended six games for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.

Miller—currently on the Jacksonville practice squad—apparently took an over-the-counter supplement before being signed, but he is now ineligible to play for six games.

Javon Wims | Panthers WR

The NFL is suspending Javon Wims for two games.

Wims punched Saints defensive back Chauncey Gardner-Johnson in the helmet on Sunday, and he was ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct. The former Georgia standout is appealing, but it would be a surprise if the suspension was reduced. The absence of Wims could give Riley Ridley a chance to be active on game day as the No. 4 receiver in Matt Nagy’s offense.

George Kittle | 49ers TE

George Kittle (foot) is out eight weeks, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

It was reported by NFL Network that Kittle was dealing with a small fracture, but it’s serious enough to potentially knock him out for the rest of the year, which is obviously a crushing blow for San Francisco and fantasy owners. Look for Kittle to soon be placed on IR, and if his season is over, it will end with 37 receptions, 474 yards, and two touchdowns in six games. Jordan Reed will now step in as the top tight end for the 49ers, and he should be rostered in all formats at one of the league’s shallowest positions.

George Kittle | 49ers TE

George Kittle has a small fracture in his foot, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Kittle is yet another big-time injury for San Francisco, and this one will likely affect the most fantasy owners. The superstar tight end will miss an extended period of time, but knowing how tough he is, it wouldn’t be a shock if he returned before the end of the month with the Niners hoping to remain in the playoff race. Jordan Reed is suddenly a must-add in all formats and could carry TE1 value in Kyle Shanahan’s offense.

Jimmy Garoppolo | Rams QB

Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) is expected to miss an extended period of time.

Garoppolo has been dealing with a high-ankle sprain since early in the season, and after leaving Sunday’s loss to the Seahawks early, it sounds like the team is essentially shutting down their quarterback until he is 100%.

Jake Luton | Saints QB

Jake Luton is expected to start for the Jaguars in Week 9.

Gardner Minshew’s thumb injury is expected to keep him out this week, and Luton will take the first team reps in practice and is set to make his first career start, getting the nod over veteran Mike Glennon. Luton is a sixth-round rookie out of Oregon State, and he’ll now get an opportunity to show what he can do in the NFL for a team looking to lock in its long-term franchise quarterback. From a fantasy perspective, this might be a slight downgrade for the skill position players for Jacksonville, though undrafted rookie running back James Robinson could get a heavy workload on the ground to make things easier on Luton.

Jonathan Taylor | Colts RB

Jonathan Taylor is dealing with an ankle issue.

Philip Rivers made it known that Taylor was nicked up after yesterday’s game, and Colts head coach Frank Reich just confirmed that Taylor is dealing with an ankle injury, which he was not aware of during yesterday’s game. This, along with subpar run blocking on most plays Taylor received carries, explains the disappointing performance in yesterday’s win over the Lions while Nyheim Hines and Jordan Wilkins played well. We expect Taylor will battle through this ankle injury, but it’s something to keep an eye on moving forward.
