Steven Sims | Seahawks WR

Steven Sims (toe) had his 21-day practice window activated.

Sims can practice for the next three weeks before he must activated or spend the rest of the year on injured reserve. Sims can be added to the active roster any time before the 21-day window ends, so he’d be eligible to play in Week 9 if activated ahead of Sunday.

Ted Ginn Jr. | Retired WR

The Bears have released Ted Ginn Jr., according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Ginn Jr. was the team’s primary punt returner for most of the season, but he was a healthy scratch in Week 8, and now they are moving on from the veteran. In six games with Chicago, Ginn Jr. caught three-of-six targets for 40 yards.

Dante Pettis | Saints WR

The 49ers waived Dante Pettis.

Pettis was known to be on the trade block, so it’s not a huge surprise that San Francisco is simply deciding to release him after the trade deadline passed. The former second-round pick had a very good finish to his rookie year in 2018, but he’s been unable to find a role in Kyle Shanahan’s offense since then. He’s an intriguing guy to keep an eye on as he hits waivers.

Myles Gaskin | Free Agent RB

Myles Gaskin (knee) is expected to miss three weeks.

Gaskin is reportedly dealing with an MCL sprain, and this is kind of out of nowhere. It explains Miami’s acquisition of DeAndre Washington for depth purposes, but Matt Breida is expected to lead the backfield moving forward. Jordan Howard could also get work moving forward after he was phased out of the backfield in recent weeks.

Cyril Grayson | Free Agent WR

The Buccaneers have waived Cyril Grayson.

Tampa Bay needed a roster spot for Antonio Brown, so Grayson will now hit waivers, but could eventually return on the practice squad.

DeAndre Washington | Free Agent RB

The Dolphins are acquiring DeAndre Washington from the Chiefs, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

This is an interesting addition for Miami with Jordan Howard already being an inactive behind Myles Gaskin, but the team may want to make it a three-way committee by having Washington rotate with Matt Breida and Gaskin. For redraft owners, Washington isn’t a recommended pickup right now.

Tevin Coleman | Free Agent RB

Tevin Coleman (knee) is out for Week 9.

Coleman rushed three times for 20 yards before exiting in his return over the weekend, which is doubly unfortunate because the Packers would have been a dream matchup on Thursday night. Hopefully the veteran runner can have the mini bye week to get healthy and return in Week 10. Look for rookie JaMycal Hasty to lead the backfield against Green Bay.
