Join now >Henry Ruggs III impresses in NFL debut.
Ruggs led the Raiders in Week 1 receiving, catching three passes for 55 yards against the Panthers, including a near-touchdown on a slightly underthrown deep ball where he came just short of the pylon. It looked like it was going to be a huge afternoon for Ruggs, but he had his leg rolled up on, missed some time, and couldn’t really get much going when he returned. The good news is Ruggs was able to come back from the leg injury, and he looks like a legit difference-maker in Jon Gruden’s offense. He should at least be a boom/bust FLEX play as a rookie, with the upside for more.

Josh Jacobs scores three times in season opener.
Jacobs carried 25 times for 93 yard and three touchdowns along with four receptions for 46 yards in the Raiders’ Week 1 win against the Panthers. As expected, Jon Gruden featured Jacobs as a centerpiece of the Las Vegas offense, and it was good to see the talk of getting the 2019 first-round pick more involved as a receiver was put into action to open the year. Jacobs, who looked trimmer and quicker than his rookie season, is almost certainly going to be both a real-life and fantasy football stud in 2020.

James Robinson leads Jaguars backfield in Week 1.
Robinson carried 16 times for 62 yards and caught one pass for 28 yards in Jacksonville’s win over Indianapolis, immediately taking over the Jaguars backfield as an undrafted rookie. The next closest ball-carrier was quarterback Gardner Minshew with five carries, and Robinson showed off his athleticism with an impressive hurdle in his first career game. Things could get more interesting when Ryquell Armstead gets healthy in the Jacksonville backfield, but Robinson is currently on the FLEX radar because of his potential workload. He’ll face a tough Titans defense in Week 2.

Jonathan Taylor gets 15 touches in NFL debut.
Taylor carries nine times for 22 yards and caught six passes for 67 yards in the Colts’ opening season loss to the Jaguars. The six receptions is somewhat of a surprise, but involvement in the receiving game is something we can expect moving forward with Philip Rivers at quarterback—and Taylor showed he can handle it in his final year at Wisconsin. Marlon Mack is likely to miss the rest of the season with an Achilles injury, so the second-round rookie Taylor is set to get a big workload in his first NFL season. Given Taylor’s talent level, the upside is astronomical this year.

Nyheim Hines gets 15 offensive touches in Week 1.
Hines had seven carries for 28 yards and a touchdown along with eight receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown in the Colts’ loss to the Jaguars. It was expected that Philip Rivers would target Hines heavily as a receiver, but Hines’ early work as a runner was a surprise. Now, unfortunately Colts starting running back Marlon Mack looks set to miss the season with a torn Achilles, so Hines is more likely to have a steady role on the round moving forward this season while working in complement with second-round rookie Jonathan Taylor. If available, Hines will be one of the strongest waiver wire adds ahead of Week 2.

J.K. Dobbins scores twice in NFL debut.
Dobbins had seven carries for 22 yards and two touchdowns against the Browns. Both scores came at the goal line, and it looks like the Ravens could be poised to use the second-round rookie as a hammer deep into scoring territory. The upside is huge for Dobbins both this season and beyond, but Baltimore is currently employing a four-man committee backfield (when Justice Hill gets healthy and back on the field).

Lamar Jackson coasts against the Browns.
The reigning league MVP started off his third NFL season exceptionally well, going 20/25 for 275 yards and three touchdowns along with seven carries for 45 yards in the Ravens’ Week 1 victory. Two of Jackson’s touchdowns were to tight end Mark Andrews, and the third was to Willie Snead. The Browns did not play well in the season opener, and the matchups will get more difficult for Baltimore; but it doesn’t look like Jackson is going to slow down much this year. He’s obviously an elite play next week against the Texans.
