The Seahawks are expected to re-sign Josh Gordon, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

Seattle has been linked to both Gordon and Antonio Brown in recent months, but Gordon figures to be close to a return to the field and has experience with the Seahawks. Gordon needs to be reinstated by the NFL, but that’s likely just a formality at this point. The former All-Pro might be difficult to rely on for you fantasy team, but he should be a strong asset for a potent Seahawks receiving group for as long as he can remain in the right state of mind and on the field. Gordon is still just 29 years old.

The 49ers are activated Richie James Jr. off the NFI list.

James is expected to be ready for Week 1, and he’s an interesting player to watch given the injuries San Francisco is dealing with in the receiving corps. James will start the season on the waiver wire in most fantasy leagues.

The Bills signed Antonio Williams.

Williams is back with Buffalo late this summer, which is a good sign as he at least looks to make the practice squad after going undrafted out of North Carolina earlier this year. Williams is someone to keep an eye on in very deep dynasty leagues only as things currently stand.

The Bears waived Alex Wesley.

Teams are getting ahead of the roster cut deadline on Saturday, and Wesley will get an opportunity to potentially land with another team earlier than if he were to be cut a couple of days from now. For now, Wesley is off the fantasy radar.

UPDATE: Damien Harris had surgery on his pinky.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says “it’ll take a few weeks to heal”, so we would think he’ll be out for at least Week 1. This is a tough break for a second-year player coming off a strong camp after what was essentially a redshirt rookie year in 2019, but we expect that he’ll have a solid role on offense when he is able to get on the field for New England.

Damien Harris (hand) might miss Week 1.

Harris has missed a couple of recent practices, and ESPN’s Mike Reiss says he’s dealing with “a hand injury that could threaten his availability for the season opener, according to a league source.” We likely won’t get much more clarity on the situation ahead of official practice reports coming out next week ahead of Week 1, but Harris has had a good summer and should have a solid role in New England’s offense whenever he gets on the field. Reiss says Harris “is projected to have a significant role” in 2020 while working in tandem with Sony Michel.

The Buccaneers are signing Leonard Fournette.

Fournette has certainly landed on his feet after he was unceremoniously waived by the Jaguars a couple of days ago, moving within the state to a Bucs team that should have a chance to contend for a Super Bowl. Fournette is coming off a 1,000-yard season with Jacksonville and is said to be coming off a committed offseason as he was set to enter a contract year, so the talented former No. 4 overall pick in the draft is an intriguing addition to a stacked Tampa Bay offense. Tampa Bay has a crowded backfield, but Fournette will likely be the team’s top goal-line option while working in complement with rising third-year player Ronald Jones.
