The Raiders placed Tyrell Williams (shoulder) on injured reserve.

This is obviously unfortunate for Williams, who dealt with a foot injury last season and has struggled to stay healthy since signing a big contract with the Raiders last offseason. Perhaps Williams can make his way back as a designated-to-return player late this year, but he’s now off the re-draft radar—and the talk is that Williams’ season is over after surgery on his torn labrum in a few weeks. Impressive third-round rookie Bryan Edwards and dynamic former Eagle Nelson Agholor are two players to keep an eye on in Las Vegas’ receiving corps along with Henry Ruggs III and Hunter Renfrow.

The Bengals are signing Joe Mixon to a long-term extension.

It’s reportedly a four-year deal tacked on top of the final season of Mixon’s rookie contract, so this will keep the former second-round pick in Cincinnati through his age-28 season in 2024. This ends the quasi-holdout Mixon was seemingly having in recent days, and you can feel comfortable drafting the Bengals workhorse in the first round of fantasy drafts in all formats. Mixon is undoubtedly one of the most talented running backs in football, and he can add more as a receiver if the Bengals use him more there moving forward. We’ll see if this does anything for Dalvin Cook and Alvin Kamara, as both are also looking for new contracts with the season approaching.

The Dolphins released Ricardo Louis.

The 2016 fourth-round pick out of Auburn wasn’t going to make the final roster for Miami, but getting released now will hopefully give him a better chance to land on a 53-man roster for another team before the season kicks off in less than two weeks.

The Dolphins released Chester Rogers.

Roster cuts are this Saturday at 4:00 PM ET, and we could see a number of cuts before then as veteran players get an opportunity to potentially land with another squad before more moves are made over the weekend. Rogers signed with Miami earlier this summer.

Golden Tate (hamstring) is day-to-day.

Tate will not practice today for the Giants after injuring the hamstring yesterday. The veteran receiver’s Week 1 status is now in some doubt, and we might not get more clarity on the situation until practice reports leading up to the season opener are out next week. Keep in mind that the Giants play on Monday Night Football to kickoff their season.

La’Mical Perine is dealing with a low-ankle sprain, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Perine was injured over the weekend, but this is great news, as the rookie shouldn’t be facing a long-term absence. Right now, there is tough to see a path for value in redraft leagues behind Le’Veon Bell and Frank Gore; consider Perine a dynasty prospect with a three-down skillset.

The Colts released Roosevelt Nix.

Perhaps Indy will move in another direction at the position, but they might decide against using a full-time traditional fullback this season. From a fantasy perspective, Nix is off the radar.
