The third-year quarterback figures to have a good shot to land back with Houston on the practice squad when the season begins, but we’ll see if another team picks him up in the coming days.

Cooper Kupp has a lower-leg strain, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Rams head coach Sean McVay said earlier today that Kupp does not have an ankle injury but rather has soreness and should be ready to go for the season opener. More specifically, according to Rapoport, what Kupp is dealing with is a “muscle strain on the right side of the lower part of his leg right above the foot.” Regardless, it sounds like Kupp is dealing with a minor ailment, and his Week 1 status is not in much doubt as things stand.

Alvin Kamara has had unexcused absences from training camp for the past three days, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Schefter says that it’s believed to be contract related, so it sounds like Kamara is yet another early-round option at running back with holdout concerns. The former third-round pick is entering the final season of his rookie deal, but he probably wants to have long-term security coming off a banged-up year in 2019. Although New Orleans seems like a franchise that would want to get something done, this news is reason enough to move Kamara down a couple of spots, and both Latavius Murray and Ty Montgomery are worth investing in.

Lamar Miller (knee) is off the PUP list.
Miller is at Patriots practice today, so he’s been taken off the PUP as was the case with teammate Sony Michel last week. New England’s running back situation is very crowded, and Miller probably isn’t a lock to make the team. The veteran running back will have less than two weeks to make an on-field impression and make the 53-man roster. Ideally, you’ll be able to have your draft after final cuts are made on September 5 to have a better grasp of the backfield.

The Dolphins signed Andy Jones.
Jones will help provide depth in Miami, but it’ll likely be difficult to make the final roster after arriving this late in the summer.

The Jaguars are releasing Leonard Fournette, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
This is slightly surprising, but not a huge shocker considering the two sides looked poised to part ways after this season, the final year of Fournette’s rookie deal. Jacksonville presumably was looking for a trade partner, which is why they waited so deep into the summer to release the former No. 4 overall pick. Fournette will now hit waivers, and it’ll be interesting to see where he lands. Meanwhile, the Jaguars are likely set to go with a committee approach at running back, with second-year player Ryquell Armstead and veteran Chris Thompson among those in the mix. Fournette carried 666 times for 2,631 yards and 17 touchdowns along with 134 receptions for 1,009 yards and two touchdowns in his three seasons with the Jags. Leonard was a relatively high draft pick in fantasy leagues, and moves like this are why it’s best to wait to have your draft if possible. That said, we’ll see if Fournette lands in a good situation.

The Seahawks are expected to sign Lance Lenoir.
This move is probably pending a physical and COVID-19 testing, but it should become official soon. Lenoir spent the last three years with the Cowboys after going undrafted in 2017. He has an uphill climb to make Seattle’s 53-man roster at this point, but he’ll provide more depth for now.
