Join now >Marqise Lee is opting out of the 2020 season.
Lee signed with the Patriots earlier this year, but he had a daughter in February and is making this decision out of caution for his family. New England should have their starting trio set with Julian Edelman, N’Keal Harry, and Mohamed Sanu, but Lee was a solid low-risk flier that will now hope to make the team in 2021.

The Buccaneers waived Jaydon Mickens.
Some NFL teams are trimming their camp rosters to make COVID easier to contain, and that could be the case here. Mickens has plus return ability, so hopefully he’s able to find a new landing spot soon.

Antonio Brown will not appeal his eight-game suspension.
Following the NFL’s announcement of the suspension earlier today, Brown’s agent Ed Wasielewski tweeted, “Antonio accepts this decision and will not appeal. He is excited to resume his outstanding football career and is looking forward to playing in the 2020 season.” This is a wise move by Brown, as it should appease the NFL, and it could be a step to show teams that he’s turning a new page and just wants to move forward and hopefully have an excellent second act to a stellar career. We would think that if teams are interested in Brown, they may want to bring him in this summer so he can get acclimated to the offense and his teammates before he missed the first eight games with his suspension. But if AB goes unsigned before the regular season, he could obviously provide a huge midseason jolt to a team, too, though.

The Broncos released Jeff Heuerman.
This release is a bit of a surprise for a former third-round tight end that’s chipped in nicely on offense for Denver, but this will give Heuerman an opportunity to find another team well ahead the start of the season. At the moment, Heuerman is off the fantasy radar.

The Raiders are signing Jeremy Hill.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says the signing is pending a physical and a COVID-19, but we expect the signing should become official soon. Hill hasn’t played since he tore his ACL in his first game with the Patriots in 2018. Hill totaled 30 touchdowns in his first three NFL seasons with the Bengals before injuries derailed things, but the former LSU running back is just 27 years old and plenty talented when healthy. Hill probably isn’t a lock to make the Raiders roster, but he could potentially be a slight threat to Josh Jacobs’ work down by the goal line if he makes the team.

Antonio Brown is being suspended for eight games.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero says the suspension could be extended “if further violations are found related to an ongoing civil suit in Florida.” Brown is obviously not going to be happy with this suspension, but he’s asked the NFL for clarity on the situation and finally gets it after a lengthy investigation following numerous off-field transgressions. Teams that have commented on the free agent former All-Pro receiver have indicated that they won’t make any moves until his status with the league is tidied up, so perhaps Brown could start drawing serious interest from squads moving forward. However, teams might just want to wait until the suspension—which Brown will serve even if he isn’t on a roster—is over or close to over at midseason. The Seahawks and Ravens have been two of the teams most heavily mentioned regarding AB.

Lamar Jackson is expecting a Year 2 leap from Marquise Brown.
Of the ultra-fast former first-round receiver, Jackson told the Ravens’ official website, “I feel like he’s going to have a huge jump, more than people may think. He was hurt last year, people didn’t know that, but he went out there and battled his tail off each and every game on a messed up foot. Now his potential is going to show this year I feel. He’s still young, but he’s going to show off. My job is to get the ball out quicker, because he’s a lot faster with that foot 100 percent.” Brown had a solid rookie campaign, with the highlight coming in his debut with four catches for 147 yards and two touchdowns in Week 1 against the Dolphins. But the foot injury seemingly caught up to “Hollywood” a bit last year, and it’s great to hear that Jackson is optimistic about him after the connection had major success on limited targets in 2019. Brown has a ton of upside in the middle rounds of fantasy drafts, and he should be a nice boom/bust FLEX option at the least this season.
