Join now >Jamize Olawale is opting out of the 2020 season.
Olawale is a versatile fullback and a solid lead blocker for Ezekiel Elliott, and Mike McCarthy was likely going to utilize him again this season on offense. The opt-out deadline is approaching, but we probably haven’t seen the end of players deciding against playing during this COVID-impacted season.

The Giants released Jon Hilliman.
Hilliman is among eight players the Giants cut to get the roster down to 80 in this COVID-impacted training camp. Hilliman was able to work his way onto the gameday roster as an undrafted free agent last season, and he should get another opportunity soon.

Da’Mari Scott is opting out of the 2020 season.
Since going undrafted in 2018, Scott has been able to make the active rosters for the Browns, Bills, and Giants in the past three years; but he’s understandably being cautious and opting out this season. Scott’s Giants contract will toll over into 2021 when he’ll look to make the roster next summer.

The Steelers waived Quadree Henderson.
The former Pitt receiver has bounced around between a handful of teams since entering the league as an undrafted free agent in 2018. Henderson is off the fantasy radar at the moment.

The Steelers waived J.T. Barrett.
The former Ohio State star quarterback was probably hurt by COVID-19 causing most teams to want to trim their rosters early in training camp. Barrett might have to settle for a practice squad spot someplace this year.

The Steelers placed Jaylen Samuels on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Samuels is being placed on the list along with teammate James Washington. If both players have the virus as opposed to just coming in close contact to someone with it, there is a chance they won’t catch it during the season, as the unconfirmed thought is that you can only get COVID-19 once.

The Steelers placed James Washington on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Washington either has the virus or came in close contact to someone with it. Hopefully the third-year receiver can get cleared soon especially as training camp ramps up and teams can get more work in on the field.
