The Saints are signing Bennie Fowler, according to Nick Underhill.

The veteran receiver has played for the Broncos and Giants throughout his career, and he’ll now look to win a role in an explosive Saints offense this season. He also spent time in Chicago and New England and has done very well to stick around the league for several years after going undrafted in 2014. For now, Fowler is off the fantasy radar, but we’ll see if he can secure a roster spot this summer.

The Buccaneers have signed LeSean McCoy to a one-year deal.

McCoy will get the veteran minimum, but he landed in a good spot to potentially have fantasy value in a high-powered offense. That said, there is also a chance McCoy doesn’t even make the team if he doesn’t show well in camp, and Ronald Jones II should still be viewed as the starter with rookie Ke’Shawn Vaughn as the most likely candidate to push him.

The Patriots re-signed Brian Lewerke.

A bunch of Patriots players have opted out of the season in recent days, which opened up a roster spot for New England to bring Lewerke back as a fourth quarterback. It’s a good sign for Lewerke that the Pats liked what they’ve seen in him so far and wanted to bring him back into the mix as an undrafted rookie.

The Jets placed Ryan Griffin on the PUP list.

Griffin is coming off a season-ending ankle injury in 2019, and he’s not quite ready for the start of training camp. Hopefully the veteran tight end gets cleared soon, but keep in mind that camp ramps up and is starting more slowly than is typical due to COVID-19.

The 49ers placed Jeff Wilson Jr. on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Wilson either has COVID-19 or has come in close contract to someone with the virus. Keep in mind that if he does have the virus, it could mean that he won’t catch it again, as has been a thought (though not 100% proven).

The Jets officially placed Joe Flacco on the PUP list.

Flacco is coming off neck surgery this offseason, so this was fully expected and just a formality. When he gets to full health, the former Super Bowl MVP will obviously be an excellent backup option behind starter Sam Darnold. For now, he’ll likely be a great mentor to the young quarterback.

The Packers placed Jace Sternberger on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Sternberger is yet another player that has either tested positive for the coronavirus or has come in close contact with someone that has the virus. Sternberger is entering a big training camp in his second NFL season as he looks to claim a big role as the No. 1 tight end for the Packers. Hopefully he can get cleared soon.
