Join now >Larry Fitzgerald gets held below 13 yards for second consecutive week.
Fitzgerald caught two passes for eight yards in the Cardinals’ Week 8 loss to the Saints, giving him just three receptions for 20 yards over the past two games. Considering Fitz started the season with at least five receptions in each of the first six games, these past two weeks have been surprising; but the targets simply haven’t been there, with just seven total in his past two outings. Through eight games, the future Hall of Fame receiver is on pace for 76 receptions, 894 yards, and four touchdowns. Fitz will look to get back on track this Thursday night against the 49ers.

The Broncos are placing Joe Flacco (neck) on injured reserve, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Flacco has two more years left on his contract, but there is a good chance he’s played his final game with Denver. In eight starts, the former Super Bowl MVP was 2-6 with 1,822 yards, six touchdowns, and five interceptions, as the offensive line really impacted the passing game over the first two months of the season. For now, it will be Brandon Allen under center for the Broncos, but second-round pick Drew Lock (thumb) is nearing a return and should make starts down the stretch.

Jordan Howard racks up 24 touches in Eagles’ win.
Howard carried 23 times for 96 yards and a touchdown along with one reception for 15 yards in the Eagles’ big Week 8 win at Buffalo. The rushing attack really got going when Philadelphia built a lead, but Howard ran the ball well throughout the day, moving forward to pick up positive yardage on his carries, as usual. Howard was surprisingly out of the game for a second-half carry down by the goal line, which Boston Scott scored on, but fantasy owners have to be happy with the workload and performance for the bruising back. A heavy workload for Howard appears to be a recipe success for the Eagles, and the former Bear will now face his former team next Sunday after he was dealt for just a sixth-round pick in the offseason. Through eight games, Howard is on pace for 200 carries for 886 rushing yards and ten rushing touchdowns along with 18 receptions for 136 yards and two receiving touchdowns. It would be a disappointment if his pace does not increase closer to the 225-250-carry range in the second half of the season, especially as the weather gets colder.

O.J. Howard (hamstring) will not play in Week 9.
This is Howard’s second consecutive missed game with his hamstring issue, and he should be considered week-to-week for now. Being ruled out ahead of a weekend might be a sign that the athletic tight end is not particularly close to returning. Cameron Brate will again be in the TE1 mix for a potential shootout against the Seahawks this Sunday.

Case Keenum is still in concussion protocol.
Redskins head coach Bill Callahan says that Keenum could still potentially start this week if he clears the concussion protocol tomorrow, but it’s looking like rookie Dwayne Haskins might be under center for Week 9 against the Bills. We’ll update you with Keenum’s official status when the final injury report is released tomorrow.

Mike Evans nears 200 yards against the Titans.
Evans caught 11 passes for 198 yards and two touchdowns in the Buccaneers’ Week 8 loss. Unlike the London loss entering the bye week, Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston did not force it to Evans, who had his 11 receptions on 12 targets. The Titans corners had a tough time matching up with Evans’ size on the outside, and this was the big receiver’s second game this season with eight-plus receptions, 190-plus yards, and two-plus touchdowns. Evans has not played as consistently or as well as the numbers indicate, but monster games have helped him be a week-winner a couple of times this season. Evans faces the Seahawks in Week 9.

Marquise Goodwin (personal) is officially inactive for Week 8.
Goodwin missed practice at the end of the week with a personal issue, and hopefully everything is OK with the speedy receiver.
