Join now >Chris Herndon (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 8.
Herndon was listed as doubtful when the injury report was released yesterday, but he’s been downgraded to out and presumably will not be making the trip to Jacksonville for tomorrow’s game. Herndon appears to be getting close to a return, though, and he should be held on fantasy rosters if possible because tight end is so shallow.

Jaylen Samuels is set to start for the Steelers in Week 9.
With James Conner (shoulder) doubtful and Benny Snell (knee) out, Samuels is set to lead the Steelers backfield this Sunday against the Colts as he returns from the injury that forced him to miss the last couple of games. Samuels apparently could have played last Monday, but the Steelers were playing things safe with him. Pittsburgh’s offense typically feeds the ball to their running backs, and Samuels is immediately an excellent fantasy option despite a difficult matchup with Indianapolis. Samuels had touch totals of 18, 21, and 15 in his three starts last season.

Chris Herndon (hamstring) will remain limited in today’s practice.
Jets head coach Adam Gase says that Herndon has a chance to play this week, but ideally we’ll see him get in a full practice tomorrow. Consider the second-year tight end 50/50 for Week 9 at this point.

Leonard Fournette gets 27 touches against the Jets.
Fournette carried 19 times for 76 yards and caught seven passes for 60 yards to help lead a balanced Jaguars offense in the team’s Week 8 victory. Entering a critical year in his career, Fournette has certainly responded to this point, with 163 carries for 791 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown along with 35 receptions for 263 receiving yards through eight games—a 326,carry, 1,582-yard, two-touchdown pace rushing and 70-reception, 526-yard pace receiving at the halfway point in the season. And the touchdowns should be set to increase for Fournette, who has been one of the best selections in 2019 fantasy drafts given his commitment to staying in shape along with his versatile role in the Jacksonville offense. Fournette next faces the Texans in London next Sunday.

Brandin Cooks (concussion) is out for the rest of today’s game.
Cooks suffered a big hit in the first quarter, and he’s now official out for the rest of the day. Cooks did not have any receptions before leaving against the Bengals. This is especially unfortunate with the Rams across the pond playing a London game, but hopefully Cooks can get home and feel better soon.

Alex Collins is being suspended three games.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport adds that Collins should be medically cleared from his broken leg next week, so perhaps a team will be interested in bringing him in at that time. The Lions are a squad to potentially keep an eye on for Collins, but the former Ravens’ starting running back is not a highly recommended fantasy pickup yet. Keep in mind that Jay Ajayi is also still out there as a free agent and has apparently struggled to receive interest around the league.

The Titans released Darius Jennings.
Jennings had two receptions for the Titans this season, as most of his contributions come on special teams. The 27-year-old receiver should find a new landing spot soon, though he could also return to Tennessee in the near future.
