It’s only Wednesday, but it’s not a good sign that Howard was not able to practice to open the week. Howard might have trouble playing in Week 9 if he cannot get out there for Thursday’s practice in a limited capacity.

David Montgomery gets 31 touches in Week 8.
Montgomery carried 27 times for 135 yards and a touchdown and added four receptions for 12 yards in Chicago’s loss to the Chargers. Bears head coach Matt Nagy promised that his team would run the ball more, and he followed through by featuring his rookie running back, who had a long run of 55 yards in the game. Montgomery is a talented runner that will have at least RB2 value moving forward if he continues getting featured like this, but he has a tough matchup at Philadelphia in Week 9.

Drew Brees (right thumb) is officially listed as questionable for Week 8.
Brees was limited all week in practice, which is a bit of a surprise considering his return is expected this Sunday against the Cardinals. While Brees said “the plan” is for him to play this weekend, keep in mind there has been some talk that he might be used as a backup quarterback to free up Taysom Hill for more reps at other positions. We would think if Brees is active he will start, but hopefully there’s clarity on the situation at 11:30 AM ET on Sunday when actives and inactives are released.

Case Keenum (concussion) is out for Week 9.
Keenum remains in concussion protocol, and the Redskins announced that rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins will make his first NFL start, with Colt McCoy backing him up. Keenum does not need to be held even in very deep fantasy leagues, and there’s a chance Haskins starts the rest of the way for Washington.
11/1/19 - 01:56 PM ET
Davante Adams (toe) was officially limited in today’s practice.
Adams is making considerable progress in his return from turf toe, as he ran routes at full speed in today’s light Packers practice. The star receiver is trending toward returning to the lineup on Sunday, but we’ll update his practice status the next couple of days. Hopefully Adams is a full participant tomorrow or Friday.
10/30/19 - 07:23 PM ET
Aaron Jones (shoulder) has returned for the Packers.
Jones is back for Green Bay’s first offensive drive of the second half, so he didn’t really miss any time while getting checked out for his shoulder issue, as Jamaal Williams likely would’ve been in for the final drive at the end of the first half anyway. Jones has one touchdown tonight and would’ve had two if he didn’t step out on a deep ball after a nice sluggo route.
10/27/19 - 10:23 PM ET
Brandin Cooks is being evaluated for a concussion.
Cooks took a huge hit against the Bengals, and he unfortunately does not seem likely to return considering his concussion history. Hopefully the speedy receiver is OK and able to return to the game soon, but we’ll update you as more information becomes available on his status.
