It’s interesting that Brees remains limited instead of a full participant in practice, but the veteran quarterback is still expected to return this Sunday. Perhaps there’s some gamesmanship at play here, but we’ll see how Brees is listed on the final Week 8 injury report tomorrow.

The 49ers are acquiring Emmanuel Sanders, according to multiple reports.
The Niners are reportedly sending the Broncos a third-round pick and a fourth-round pick in exchange for Sanders and a fifth-round pick. Sanders was said to be available, and it felt like it was only a matter of time before he would be dealt to another team. In the short term from a fantasy perspective, this is bad news for the young receivers for San Francisco, as Sanders will likely emerge as the team’s top wide receiver from a statistical perspective. For Sanders, he becomes the No. 1 receiver on one of the league’s top offenses, so his fantasy value should get a boost. In Denver, Courtland Sutton could be set for an even bigger role on offense and appears locked in as a fantasy WR2 all season, and second-year receiver DaeSean Hamilton should step in as a starter opposite Sutton. Hamilton could provide FLEX value this season, but he’s more of a strong player to own in dynasty leagues.

Alvin Kamara (knee/ankle) was officially limited in today’s practice.
He’s probably not a lock, but we would think this puts Kamara on track to return to the lineup this Sunday against the Cardinals. The final Week 8 injury report will be released sometime tomorrow, and Kamara will likely be listed as questionable barring a setback or an upgrade to a full practice to end the week.

The Chiefs have promoted Kyle Shurmur to the active roster.
Shurmur will serve as Matt Moore’s backup with Patrick Mahomes (ankle) facing a multi-game absence. The undrafted rookie out of Vanderbilt will hopefully not be forced into action, but he would likely be able to manage Andy Reid’s offense if needed.

Patrick Mahomes (knee) officially remain limited in practice.
Mahomes continues to move around a bit at practice, but tomorrow’s release of the final Week 8 injury report will be a stronger indication of whether Mahomes actually has a shot to play on Sunday night. For now, we would think he’s not likely to play, but we’ll see.
10/24/19 - 05:15 PM ET
The Chiefs have released De’Anthony Thomas.
Kansas City needed room on the active roster to promote quarterback Kyle Shurmur, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see Thomas eventually back with the team. For now, the Oregon product is off the fantasy radar.

David Johnson (ankle) officially did not practice today.
If Johnson does not hit the practice field tomorrow, we would think he’ll be ruled out or doubtful for Week 8. The Cardinals are likely keeping in mind that they have a short week with a Halloween game next Thursday, and Chase Edmonds played exceptionally well during DJ’s absence.
