Join now >John Ross (right shoulder) is officially questionable to return for the Bengals.
Ross was slammed on his right shoulder after catching an in-breaking route, and he was in obvious pain before jogging over to the sideline and hanging his right arm. The dynamic receiver previously had surgery on that right shoulder, which makes this situation more concerning. Hopefully the injury isn’t too serious, but don’t expect Ross to return to tonight’s game with Cincinnati down 24-3 with under ten minutes to go in the fourth quarter. Before leaving, Ross caught three passes for 36 yards. A couple of huge performances to open the season obviously helped a ton, but Ross is on pace for 52 receptions for 1,312 yards and 12 touchdowns at the quarter-mark in the season.

Vance McDonald (shoulder) is officially inactive against the Bengals.
McDonald was listed as doubtful entering tonight, so this was fully expected. Nick Vannett will have a role after just getting acquired by the Steelers last week, but James Conner and JuJu Smith-Schuster are clearly Pittsburgh’s most trusted fantasy options for Week 4.

Mitchell Trubisky reportedly should be back “sooner rather than later.”
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Trubisky’s MRI on his left shoulder revealed a disclosed left shoulder with a slight labrum tear, but that the third-year quarterback does not need surgery. Schefter is being told Trubisky should be back “sooner rather than later.” This is good news after Trubisky had to leave yesterday’s game early against the Vikings, as surgery might have wiped out the rest of the year for the Bears starter. Because this is the left non-throwing shoulder for Trubisky, we expect he’ll be back at some point in October. However, if veteran Chase Daniel continues to play well in Trubisky’s absence, Chicago might remain more patient with their franchise quarterback getting back on the field.

Rashaad Penny (hamstring) will play in Week 5.
Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll says Penny will be ready to go for Thursday night against the Rams after missing the last two games. Seattle probably wanted to hold Penny out yesterday to ensure he’s ready to go for this week’s big matchup with the Rams, and the second-year running back will mix in behind starter Chris Carson, who got back on track with over 100 rushing yards in yesterday’s victory at Arizona.

Leonard Fournette has career day in Week 4 victory.
Fournette rushed 29 times for a career-high 225 yards and caught two passes for an additional 20 yards. The attempts were also a career-high, and Fournette’s 81-yard run was the second-longest of his career. The only complaint fantasy owners could have is that he didn’t find the end zone for the fourth time this season, but the LSU product is on pace for over 1,600 rushing yards and 64 receptions at the season’s quarter-mark. The scores will come, so Fournette is moving closer towards solid RB1 status ahead of next Sunday’s matchup against the Panthers.

Ronald Jones plays great on 20 touches in Week 4 victory.
Jones rushed 19 times for 70 yards and one touchdown, also hauling in his only target for 12 yards. Overall, the numbers don’t jump out as a phenomenal performance, but Jones showed explosiveness, balance, and surprising vision/toughness all afternoon, including on another long gain—his most impressive run of the game—that was called back due to a penalty. It’s worth noting that Jones looked good in the opener only to handle four touches the following week, but he’s now gone for yardage totals of 93, 121, and 82 in three-of-four games, so the second-year back is quietly emerging as a playable low-end RB2/FLEX in all formats.

Chris Carson gets back on track in Seahawks’ win.
Carson carried 22 times for 104 yards along with four receptions for 41 yards in a convincing Seattle victory at Arizona. With Rashaad Penny still out with a hamstring injury, the Seahawks fed Carson his heaviest workload of the season despite the fumbling issues to open the year, and he took advantage of the touches with a strong performance to likely get a strong grip on the clear starting and near-workhorse role for his team. Through four games this season, Carson is on pace for 268 carries, 1,048 rushing yards, four rushing touchdowns, 56 receptions, 200 receiving yards, and four receiving touchdowns. He’s an excellent player and should remain an excellent fantasy option moving forward after the early fumbling concerns.
