Join now >Sterling Shepard (concussion) was officially limited in today’s practice.
Shepard is at least making progress after missing Week 2 with his concussion, which is great to see. There’s optimism that Shepard will be ready to go for this Sunday against the Buccaneers, but we’ll update you on his practice status throughout the week.

Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) is officially active for the Jets.
After he was acquired by the Patriots last week, Thomas will be out there for his Jets debut tonight against the Browns. DT has some built-in chemistry with Trevor Siemian from their time together in Denver, but he’s not a highly recommended fantasy option in the final game of Week 2.

Damien Williams (knee) has been ruled out for Week 3.
Kansas City will officially be without their starter in a huge game against the Ravens this weekend, and with LeSean McCoy (ankle) at less than 100%, Darrel Williams and Darwin Thompson may be given more work. That said, all three guys look like risky FLEX plays due to the matchup. Hopefully Williams can return in Week 4, but not even being questionable this week isn’t a good early sign.

The Raiders have traded for Trevor Davis, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Davis wasn’t getting a ton of playing time for the Packers, but now he’ll join an Oakland team that wants to add more speed to the team. The Cal product will return home to the West Coast, and he’ll contribute on both offense and special teams. Davis does not need to be picked up in fantasy leagues.

Cam Newton (foot) officially did not practice again.
Things can change, but Newton is looking doubtful for Week 3 against the Cardinals. We’ll update you tomorrow when the final Week 3 injury report with official game statuses is released tomorrow.

Le’Veon Bell (shoulder) is officially active against the Browns.
Bell’s shoulder was said to be fine, and this was fully expected. You can keep Bell locked into fantasy lineups as he likely gets set for a heavy workload tonight.

Diontae Johnson says he’s been told he’s a starting receiver.
Johnson told reporters after practice that the coaches “just put me in there and told me I’m the starter from here on out.” The rookie receiver was getting noticeable playing time in last week’s loss to the Seahawks, and it appears veteran Donte Moncrief has been pushed out of the starting lineup. It’s very surprising that Pittsburgh hasn’t given James Washington this treatment, especially with Washington’s college quarterback Mason Rudolph now starting for Ben Roethlisberger, but Johnson is the one that appears poised for an increase in role. Johnson has four receptions for 42 yards through two games.
