Join now >Antonio Brown scores in Patriots debut.
Brown caught four passes for 56 yards and a touchdown, with the score coming on a 20-yard back-shoulder throw to the end zone. The Patriots clearly made an effort to get AB involved early in the game, and he had three of his four receptions on the opening drive. He was targeted later in the 43-0 victory at Miami, including on an underthrown ball to the end zone that could’ve been another touchdown, but, overall, it was a strong first outing with his new team. Brown did throw his arms out a couple of times (including on the underthrown pass to the end zone), but it’s unclear if it was directed at the legendary Tom Brady or not. Anyway, New England is probably going to feed Brown targets to ensure he stays happy and doesn’t cause any issues, and he’ll be an obvious WR1 versus the Jets in Week 3.

D.K. Metcalf scores first career touchdown in Week 2.
Metcalf caught three passes for 61 yards and a touchdown, with the score coming on a 28-yard go route on a dime from Russell Wilson. The second-round rookie has looked like a beast through two games, and it helps having someone like Wilson giving him opportunities to make plays down the field. Metcalf is averaging 21.4 yards per reception for the 2-0 Seahawks, but Week 3 versus New Orleans should be a tougher matchup. Dynasty owners in particular should be confident that Metcalf’s game is translating well to the NFL after some had concerns that he was just a physical specimen that might not be able to play receiver in the league at a high level.

Joe Mixon struggles in Bengals’ Week 2 loss.
Cincinnati was blown out by San Francisco, so it wasn’t a spectacular effort for the team overall; but Mixon carried 11 times for just 17 yards and added three receptions for ten yards. The third-year running back was toughing out an ankle injury and is not at 100%, and he has just 17 carries for 27 yards along with five receptions for 17 yards this season. The offensive line was a concern coming into the year, but this is about as poor of a start imaginable for the AFC’s leading rusher from last season. The good news is it can only go up from here for Mixon, and he is a prime buy-low candidate, as fantasy owners that drafted him early are almost certainly frustrated and looking to part ways with him.

Deebo Samuel catches first career touchdown in 49ers’ win.
Samuel got open on a corner route at the goal line, and he led the team with five receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown. The second-round rookie also received a good amount of playing time in Week 1, and while this was just one big game, it looks like the physical South Carolina product has already emerged as Jimmy Garoppolo’s top wide receiver. Samuel is worth a look as a waiver-wire pickup for leagues he’s available in.

Corey Davis catches three passes in Titans’ Week 2 loss.
Davis gained 38 yards on his three receptions, including a 25-yard catch, against the Colts. It was a grind-it-out type of game, and Delanie Walker had the highest receiving total among Tennessee receivers with 39 yards, but Davis is coming off a catchless Week 1 and now gets a matchup with Jalen Ramsey and company this Thursday night. The former fifth overall pick is not a must-hold in redraft leagues.

Kirk Cousins struggles in Vikings’ Week 2 loss.
Cousins was 14/32 for 230 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in the loss at Green Bay. He also added two carries for 17 yards. Minnesota’s starting quarterback had a perfect deep ball to Stefon Diggs for a 49-yard touchdown, but he did not play well aside from that, including a costly interception into double coverage while fading away down by the goal line on first-and-goal when the Vikings could have taken the lead with about five minutes remaining in the game. The ground game for the Vikings was again very effective, with Dalvin Cook carrying 20 times for 154 yards and a touchdown—look for Mike Zimmer to try to keep the ball out of Cousins’ hands more moving forward. Cousins looks like a risky fantasy option for 2019.

Aaron Jones goes over 100 yards in win over the Vikings.
Jones received 23 carries for 116 yards and a touchdown along with four receptions for 34 yards in the Packers’ Week 2 win. It was a concern when Jamaal Williams scored an early touchdown on a reception, but Jones received more than enough work throughout the game, racking up a career-high 27 touches and doing damage with them versus one of the league’s best defenses. Williams had nine carries for 28 yards and three receptions for 13 yards and a touchdown in the victory. Green Bay played ahead for basically the entire game, which made it easier to give Jones the ball a lot, but this is still a very promising sign for his season-long outlook. Jones should be in Week 3 fantasy lineups when the Packers host the Broncos.
