Join now >Carson Wentz returns for the Eagles.
This is an odd situation, as Wentz was just standing on the sidelines watching Josh McCown in the game for a few plays and then suddenly went back into the game. It looks like Wentz isn’t 100% but decided he wants to play again. The Eagles are currently down 10-3 with under a minute remaining in the first half. [UPDATE: Wentz was reportedly getting checked for a concussion and returned to the game.]

Carson Wentz leaves Sunday night game.
Wentz appeared to injure his rib area early in the game, and he has not looked good at all since then, so perhaps he’s been trying to tough it out throughout the night. There’s under a minute remaining in the half, and Josh McCown is in at quarterback for Philadelphia. The Eagles should provide more information by the time we return from halftime.

DeSean Jackson (groin) is officially questionable to return for the Eagles.
Jackson was getting evaluated in the medical tent, and he’s been ruled questionable to return along with Alshon Jeffery (calf). The Eagles are very thin at receiver right now, and it’ll be J.J. Arcega-Whiteside and Mack Hollins working in along with starter Nelson Agholor while Jackson and/or Jeffery are out.

Alshon Jeffery (calf) is officially questionable to return against the Falcons.
It was surprising to see Jeffery standing one the sideline for Philadelphia’s recent series, and this explains it. It’s unclear when Jeffery was hurt, but we’ll update you if he’s able to return for tonight’s game or is ruled out for the rest of the night.

Drew Brees is out of the game for the Saints.
Brees just suffered an apparent injury to his hand or thumb when his follow through hit Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald. Brees had his thumb wrapped and apparently doesn’t feel comfortable throwing the ball, as it looked like he didn’t try to grip the ball after it was wrapped. Brees understandably looks very mad and frustrated on the sideline, and it appears unlikely he’ll return to today’s game The only game Brees has missed for New Orleans was in 2015 because of a shoulder injury. Teddy Bridgewater is now at quarterback for the Saints, and Taysom Hill will also likely mix in at the position.

Dallas Goedert (calf) is questionable to return for the Eagles.
It’s unclear when Goedert was injured, but he’d be a big loss for the Eagles if he’s unable to return. Goedert dealt with a calf injury throughout the summer, so this could be an aggravation. We’ll update you as more information becomes available on the second-year tight end’s status.

James Conner (knee) did not return to today’s game.
Conner appeared to be in fine spirits on the sidelines, so hopefully this injury isn’t too serious. Before leaving, Conner had 11 carries for 33 yards and a touchdown along with three receptions for 12 yards. If Conner is forced to miss more time, Jaylen Samuels will likely be the top waiver wire pickup ahead of Week 3.
