Join now >Derrius Guice is “likely to miss time” with a knee injury, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Rapoport says Guice had an MRI on his other knee (not the one he tore his ACL last year and faced complications during his return), and “the hop is he does not need surgery, but the team is doing a full evaluation.” This is really tough news for Guice, who was set to assume a huge role for the Redskins this season despite being held to ten carries and 18 yards in yesterday’s loss to the Eagles. It looks like veteran running back Adrian Peterson—who was a healthy scratch yesterday, which reportedly caused frustration within Washington’s locker room—will now be set for a decent workload for however long Guice is out.

Cody Latimer (calf) is officially active for the Giants.
With Sterling Shepard out with a concussion and Golden Tate still serving his suspension, this is great news for the Giants. Latimer figures to be a starter and one of the top targets for Eli Manning today, but he’s not a highly recommended Week 2 fantasy option versus the Bills.

Sterling Shepard (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 2.
Things seemed to be trending this way after Shepard missed the first two practices of the week, and it’s not a good sign for Shepard that he’s being ruled out ahead of the weekend. Hopefully Shepard is feeling better soon, but consider him questionable for Week 3 at Tampa Bay. With Cody Latimer (calf) questionable for this week, the Giants are extremely thin at receiver. Evan Engram and Saquon Barkley should both be set for a lot of work through the air against the Bills.

Mike Williams (knee) is officially active for Week 2.
Williams was able to get on the practice field on a limited basis for Friday’s practice, which led to some optimism that he’d be able to play today. The third-year receiver reportedly might be used more in red-zone situations, so—while he certainly has multi-touchdown upside—consider him more of a strong FLEX option at less than 100% for this week.

The Steelers are trading Joshua Dobbs to the Jaguars, according to Ian Rapoport.
Pittsburgh will get a fifth-round pick in return. Jacksonville needed to add a quarterback after Nick Foles’ unfortunate collarbone injury, and Dobbs is their guy as a playmaker that should be able to move the offense when he learns the system. That said, sixth-round pick Gardner Minshew played great in relief of Foles yesterday, and he should at least have a couple of more games to potentially keep the job until the starter returns.

Joe Mixon (ankle) is officially active against the 49ers.
Mixon reportedly participated in the Bengals’ walkthrough late in the week, and he’s ready to go for the team’s Week 2 matchup. Mixon probably isn’t quite at full strength, but you can safely lock him into fantasy lineups despite a disappointing outing to open the season.

Trey Burton (groin) was officially limited in today’s practice.
Burton is still considered day-to-day, but we’d say he’s on the doubtful side of things for Week 2. Hopefully he can get up to a full practice tomorrow or Friday.
