Join now >Derrick Henry has a strained calf muscle, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
It is expected to sideline him for about two weeks, but it’s not considered serious, and the Titans are mostly being cautious. Henry should be back in plenty of time for the season opener, and staying fresh now could end up paying off during the regular season, as Tennessee is expected to feed their monster runner. That said, it would be good to see Henry back on the field for the team’s third preseason game.

Jordan Reed says he feels “more explosive” this year.
Reed has dealt with foot issues the previous three seasons, but he says: “My feet are definitely getting stronger, way stronger than last year. I feel more explosive, and I feel a lot better.” The athletic tight end also said that he knows there are questions about him and that he has to answer them on the field rather than with his words. Reed has gotten positive reviews at the start of Redskins training camp, and this was his first offseason in three years without having to rehab an injury. Durability will remain a concern, but Reed is a major value with high upside that can be had at the end of almost all fantasy drafts.

Tyreek Hill was carted off at practice today with a bruised quad.
Fantasy owners were holding their breath when Hill was carted off, but it was quickly determined to be a minor issue that should have no impact on the receiver’s outlook. The 25-year-old is being drafted as high as the first round of fantasy drafts, but that may be a little too rich.

The Titans placed Cameron Batson on injured reserve.
This is really unfortunate for Batson, who was named one of the top performers for the Titans during offseason training. If the injury isn’t too serious, Batson could potentially hit the field (for the Titans or another team) at some point this season, but he’s off the fantasy radar for now.

Andrew Luck is still dealing with a calf issue.
Luck has missed a couple of practices with the calf injury already, and Colts head coach Frank Reich says Luck will likely also miss the next two practices before being re-evaluated. Indy’s franchise quarterback already missed offseason training a couple of months ago because of the calf issue, so this is starting to become a bit of a concern. The good news is the Colts have one of the best backup quarterbacks in the league in Jacoby Brissett, but hopefully Luck can put this calf issue behind him and get to 100% at some point this preseason. Reich also added that they have a lot of time, so expect the team to take a cautious approach with Luck—so it might be possible his Week 1 status is unclear even in late August. We’ll keep you posted.

The Titans signed Tanner McEvoy.
The former Wisconsin receiver stands at six-foot-six, so he’ll give the Titans some size this summer as he looks to make the team. McEvoy will likely need to win on jump-ball situations throughout the preseason to make his strongest case for making the cut on the 53-man roster.

Tyreek Hill was carted away during practice, according to Kimberley A. Martin.
Per Martin, the dynamic receiver was “stretching/bending” his right leg in a medical tent, and then a cart came to take him away. It’s possible this is just a minor issue, but it’s never good when a player is carted off. We’ll have an update on Hill when one becomes available.
