Jerick McKinnon | Free Agent RB

Jerick McKinnon (knee) is starting training camp on the PUP list.

McKinnon isn’t quite ready to go for the start of camp, which is a slight concern after he suffered the knee injury about 11 months ago. However, the Niners might be taking a cautious approach with McKinnon (they can afford to with such a stacked running-back room), and he can be taken off the PUP list at any time. Tevin Coleman should be the favorite to start for the Niners as camp begins.

Tommylee Lewis | Panthers WR

The Lions placed Tommylee Lewis on the PUP list.

Lewis was on Injured Reserve for the Saints last season, but he worked his way back as a designated-to-return player, so it’s unclear what he’s dealing with. The return specialist and situational deep threat can be taken off the PUP list at any time, though.

Brandon Reilly | Steelers WR

The Lions have released Brandon Reilly.

The 2017 undrafted receiver re-signed with the Lions last month, but now he’ll look to join another team during training camp as he tries to make a 53-man roster. Reilly doesn’t need to be rostered in dynasty leagues at the moment.

Chris Carson | Retired RB

Chris Carson (knee) says he’s 100%.

Carson is ready to go at the start of Seahawks training camp, and he reportedly had a good day working as the starter and catching some passes as an outlet for Russell Wilson. The third-year running back said the offseason procedure on his knee was just a “small scope,” which is good to hear. Coming off an 1,151-yard rushing season, Carson should remain a strong fantasy option in 2019 despite the presence of 2018 first-round pick Rashaad Penny in the backfield with him. Carson is simply an impressive player that’s too good to leave off the field for long stretches on a team that loves his physical running style.

Allen Hurns | Free Agent WR

The Cowboys are releasing Allen Hurns, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Hurns was unlikely to get a ton of playing time with the Cowboys this season, and this might have been a mutual parting between the two sides. The former 1,000-yard receiver (for Jacksonville in 2015) will receive plenty of interest on the open market, and the 27-year-old might have a chance to make a fantasy impact if he lands in the right spot. Hurns is coming back from a gruesome broken leg suffered last postseason, but he’s expected to be ready to hit the field at some point this summer. [UPDATE: NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says Hurns’ ankle is “ready to go”.]

Marquise Brown | Chiefs WR

Marquise Brown (foot) has passed his physical.

“Hollywood” has been recovering from a Lisfranc foot injury that ended his season at Oklahoma, but that didn’t stop Baltimore from selecting him in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and he will now get on the field to potentially establish himself as the team’s top receiver. Unless quarterback Lamar Jackson makes some huge strides as a passer, Brown will probably be a full-blown boom-or-bust option in redraft leagues this season.

7/30/19 - 04:04 PM ET

A.J. Green | Retired WR

A.J. Green has torn ligaments in his left ankle and will miss six-to-eight weeks, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Green is expected to miss the season opener in Seattle, so the injury is obviously more serious than believed yesterday when it was reported to just be a low ankle sprain. The Bengals will now likely be without their star receiver for all of training camp and potentially longer than the regular season opener, which is especially concerning as they install a new offense under head coach Zac Taylor. For now, Tyler Boyd will be the clear No. 1 receiver for Cincinnati, and the team will need John Ross to step up. Green was looking like a solid pick in the second or third round of fantasy drafts, but now could slip all the way outside the top 50.
