Join now >Theo Riddick is signing with the Broncos, according to multiple reports.
Riddick was released by the Lions after six seasons last week, and he received interest from several teams. The 28-year-old has at least 50 receptions in four straight seasons, and he’ll instantly become another reliable target underneath for quarterback Joe Flacco. However, this signing is probably bad news from a fantasy perspective, as Denver looks like it’ll be a full-blown committee with Phillip Lindsay, Royce Freeman, and Riddick. Fourth-year running back Devontae Booker could be a trade candidate this summer.

Melvin Gordon’s agent requested a trade for his client last week, according to ESPN’s Josina Anderson.
Anderson says Gordon’s agent Damarius Bilbo requested the trade after the Chargers remained on a contract offer of $10 million per year. However, Bilbo has reportedly not received permission to seek a trade partner after Chargers general manager Tom Telesco told him that Gordon is still family. Obviously, the Chargers want their star running back around, but the fact that Gordon’s agent requested a trade shows that this relationship is fraught. We could certainly see a trade happening, especially if an injury strikes during the preseason; but from a fantasy perspective, we just have to hope this situation is sorted out by the time most people hold their fantasy drafts in late August or early September. Again, holdouts like this (and injuries) are why you should wait as long as possible to hold your fantasy draft.

ESPN Dolphins reporter Cameron Wolfe projects Kenyan Drake at over 200 touches this season.
Keep in mind that Wolfe admits this is an early projection, but he sees the backfield potentially being split into a 45/40/15 timeshare, with Drake getting the biggest piece of the pie at 45% and Kalen Ballage getting 40% of the touches. Wolfe does also project that a “conservative estimate” for the Dolphins this season is 10% more plays than last year, when they were last in the NFL with 55 offensive plays per game—but Miami is expected to be one of the worst teams in the league, so a 10% increase might not be conservative. Anyway, Drake’s career-high in touches was set last season with 173, and actually getting in the 200-225-touch range as Wolfe projects would at least make the explosive running back a very strong FLEX option if not a solid RB2 in 2019. Ballage has handled the majority of starter’s reps during training camp to this point, though, so it’s certainly no lock that Drake gets the most touches in Miami’s backfield this season.

The Texans officially activated Kahale Warring from the non-football injury list.
The rookie tight end is at a disadvantage after missing the first few training camp practices, but he’ll look to make a Year 1 impact in Houston. Warring is a strong run blocker, which should help him see the field, but he’s just a dynasty-league hold for now.

Brandon Reilly was claimed by the Steelers.
The former Nebraska receiver was waived by the Lions, but Pittsburgh decided to pick him up to see if he can carve out a role in their receiving corps. Reilly will turn 26 in September.

Redskins head coach Jay Gruden doesn’t expect Bryce Love to be on the active roster to start this season.
Gruden says the rookie running back still has a ways to go in his recovery from the ACL tear suffered in his final game at Stanford last year, and it sounds like he’s going to start the season on the PUP list, which would force him to miss the first six games of the regular season. With an excellent group of running backs, Washington can afford to be patient with the former Heisman Trophy finalist, and that’s the smart course of action for his long-term health. Love remains a must-hold in dynasty leagues because of his dynamic ability, but there’s a chance he doesn’t deliver any re-draft value in 2019.

The Ravens have released Jordan Lasley.
This is a bit of a surprise after Lasley was selected in the fifth-round of last year’s draft, but Ravens head coach John Harbaugh says the team wants to give Lasley a chance to find a better fit with a new team. Lasley did not appear in any games for Baltimore last season. The talented UCLA product should generate a good amount of interest from the other 31 NFL teams, and we expect he’ll be picked up quickly.
