Join now >The Browns waived L.J. Scott.
Scott has been waived by the Ravens and Browns since going undrafted, but it shouldn’t take him long to find another opportunity. Hopefully the former Michigan State running back is able to stay with a team that’ll give him a longer opportunity into the summer.

Baker Mayfield talks up Antonio Callaway.
Nick Shook of the Browns’ official website says Callaway has looked “sharp” at OTAs, and the team’s franchise quarterback Mayfield said: “I think I can speak for a few people. We’ve been very pleasantly and very happy with how [Callaway] came back from the offseason ready to go.” Mayfield also said how the team brought in Odell Beckham Jr. and re-signed some receivers, so Callaway is facing competition for playing time, which is bringing out the best in the second-year receiver. Keep in mind that it’s May, but Callaway is a talented player, so it’s a good sign that he’s apparently worked hard this offseason as he looks to win the third receiver spot as a starter along with Beckham and Jarvis Landry in Cleveland.

The Seahawks have officially signed Geno Smith.
This was reportedly going to happen, and now it’s official. Smith will battle Paxton Lynch for the backup job behind Russell Wilson, and he should be considered the favorite to win the spot. Smith was with the Chargers last season after spending 2017 with the Giants and his first four NFL seasons with the Jets.

The Niners have signed Levine Toilolo.
Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan was Toilolo’s offensive coordinator for two seasons in Atlanta, so there’s familiarity there. Also, Toilolo returns to California, where he played college football at Stanford. The six-foot-eight tight end will complement All-Pro George Kittle, and most of his contributions will come as a blocker, so he’s off the fantasy radar right now.

Jack Doyle (hip) is expected to be ready for the start of training camp.
After offseason hip surgery, it’s great to hear that everything is on track and the Colts tight end is expected to be good to go for training camp. Doyle dealt with the hip injury all last season before a kidney injury in Week 12 knocked him out for the year, and his addition back into the offense will be big for Andrew Luck and company. Doyle will have heavy competition for targets in a stacked offense, though.

The Lions are expected to use more 12 personnel this season.
12 personnel means one running back (the “1”) and two tight ends (the “2”), so that means just two wide receivers would be on the field. This indicates the Lions are less likely to use three-wide-receiver sets, which likely means less of free-agent acquisition Danny Amendola on the field. Detroit wants to be a physical team that runs the football, and 12 personnel—which will get Jesse James and first-round rookie tight end T.J. Hockenson on the field at the same time—will help them do that. Overall, a good amount of 12 personnel decreases the chances of Amendola getting up into the 75-catch range, but he’s produced with limited time on the field (more so in an effort to keep him healthy all season) before.

The Texans have signed Taiwan Jones.
With the Bills last season, Jones was placed on injured reserve with a neck injury at the end of October. But he was named a team captain for his special-teams contributions, so he should be a great addition on the third unit for the Texans in 2019. Jones has had just two offensive touches the last three seasons, so he’s unlikely to make a big fantasy impact this season.
