Join now >Bruce Arians indicates Breshad Perriman could be a big part of the Bucs offense in 2019.
Arians said it was good to see quarterback Jameis Winston and Perriman try to connect on a deep ball during the team’s training session, and he said “that’s going to be a heck of a combination.” It’s also worth noting that Perriman was designated as a player to have a press conference after today’s first day of OTAs. Perriman said he expects “big plays all around, run-game and pass-game” in Arians’ offense. Arians loves the deep ball perhaps more than any coach in the league, and Perriman has sub-4.30 speed that the two-time NFL Coach of the Year will love. Perriman should be considered the early favorite to start in three-receiver sets with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin this season, especially with talk of Godwin playing a lot in the slot.

E.J. Manuel has retired from the NFL.
Manuel signed with the Chiefs earlier this offseason, but the 29-year-old is calling it a career after six NFL seasons (five on the active roster making game appearances). Manuel was selected in the first round by the Bills in the 2013 draft, and he played four seasons in Buffalo before joining the Raiders in 2017. He was the first quarterback taken in that 2013 draft class, which was considered one of the weakest quarterback classes in recent memory, going 16th overall to the Bills. Manuel really didn’t land in an ideal spot, and he played pretty well all things considered throughout his career—he just didn’t get a ton of help, which didn’t make it easy for him to perform like a first-rounder. Manuel’s career ends with 3,767 passing yards, 20 passing touchdowns, and 16 interceptions along with 339 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns in 30 games (18 starts). We wish the Florida State product the best of luck in his post-playing life.

The Bills released Jake Fisher.
The former offensive tackle making the switch to tight end will need to find another team, and it shouldn’t be too difficult for teams intrigued by his blocking ability as a potential eligible receiver. The position switch won’t be easy for Fisher, and the Bill don’t see enough from him as a tight end yet to keep him on the 90-man roster right now.

The Bills released Keith Ford.
Buffalo has a stacked running back group, so Ford will look to land in a spot where he might have a clearer path to playing time. Ford isn’t on the fantasy radar at the moment.

The Browns signed L.J. Scott.
Scott was apparently never signed as the Ravens as an undrafted free agent, instead getting a tryout in Baltimore but going unsigned. Now the former Michigan State running back lands with another AFC North team, and he’ll have a shot to work his way into a roster spot for a team that’ll be without Kareem Hunt for the first eight games of the season (suspension).

The Bills signed Lee Smith to a three-year contract.
Smith spent the first four years of his NFL career in Buffalo before spending his last four years in Oakland, but now he’s back where he started with the Bills. It’s surprising that Smith is getting a three-year deal, but he’ll be a key player as a run blocker and pass protector for Buffalo. Smith isn’t likely to have much fantasy value in 2019.

The Titans signed Cody Hollister, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Hollister spent last year on the non-football injury list with the Patriots, and he’s the twin brother of tight end Jacob Hollister, who was recently traded by New England to Seattle. Cody is a big wide receiver instead of a tight end, and he’ll look to stay healthy and win a role in Tennessee’s receiving corps.
