The Eagles have released Johnny Holton.

Holton—a pure deep threat—spent the past three years in Oakland before signing with Philadelphia, but his stay was a short one. We’ll see if the 27-year-old can land somewhere else before training camp as either a receiver or cornerback.

The Giants signed Rod Smith.

Smith struggled some last season with the Cowboys, averaging just 2.9 yards per attempt (on 44 carries) a season after he averaged 4.2 yards per carry (on 55 carries) with four touchdowns and 202 receiving yards at 10.6 yards per reception while helping fill in for a suspended Ezekiel Elliott. The 27-year-old running back is an all-around player that can make big plays and contribute on special teams, and he’ll look to win a spot behind Saquon Barkley with the Giants this season.

Bilal Powell is fully cleared from his neck injury, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

A letter was sent to all 32 teams saying that Powell is fully healthy and “really looking forward to getting back to work.” Former Jets head coach Todd Bowles had said that Powell was expected to make a full recovery; and, now a free agent, the 30-year-old is already cleared to return to action. With free-agent signings no longer counting about the compensatory pick formula for this offseason, multiple teams should be interested in adding Powell to their running back group. Powell can contribute as both a runner and a receiver, and he has shown big-play ability throughout his career in eight seasons with the Jets.

Emmanuel Sanders (Achilles) says he’s “still got it.”

Just a few months removed from his torn Achilles suffered in December, Sanders is already running full speed and hit 19.2 miles per hour, which is giving him confidence that he’ll be back to his normal self. The veteran receiver also added that he’s not worried about a return date and is instead focusing on rehab, which is moving toward lateral movement now. Running routes and cutting hard will be a test for Sanders, but his recovery and progress looks great to this point. Things can change, but there should currently be definite optimism that Sanders will be on the field in Week 1 for the Broncos.

The Raiders signed wide receiver Jalin Marshall.

Marshall spent 2016 and 2017 with the Jets after he was signed as an undrafted free agent, and he most recently played with the Orlando Apollos of the AAF. Marshall is a versatile receiver that can also carry the ball on handoffs, and he’ll look to carve out a role in Jon Gruden’s offense this summer.

The Packers claimed Jawill Davis off waivers from the Giants.

Davis was an undrafted rookie from Bethune-Cookman that played in seven games last season. He caught four passes in his seven appearances, but he also contributed as a punt and kick returner. Davis will look to win a roster spot in Green Bay this summer, and perhaps he’ll work his way onto the fantasy radar with Aaron Rodgers as his quarterback.

A.J. Green (toe) says he will be ready for the start of training camp.

This was the expectation after December toe surgery, but Green confirmed it on “The Adam Schefter Podcast”. The Pro Bowl receiver will be 31 this summer, but hopefully he’ll be as healthy as he’s been in a while after a career-low 694 receiving yards in just nine games in 2018. It’d be nice to see Green look healthy in preseason action, but there’s probably a chance he’s rested to ensure he’s 100% entering the regular season.
