Join now >The Redskins have selected Stanford running back Bryce Love with the No. 112 pick (fourth round) in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Love rushed for 2,118 yards and was a Heisman Trophy finalist in 2017, and he likely would have been in the discussion for a first-round pick last year had he left school after his junior season. As a senior, Love battled injuries and averaged 4.5 yards per carry (compared to 8.1 during his exceptional junior season), rushing for 739 yards in ten games, but he tore his ACL in the final game, leading to a bigger dip in his draft stock. In addition to the knee injury, Love also battled ankle injuries throughout his college career, including during the 2017 Heisman finalist campaign, so durability is a definite concern as he enters the league. But with blazing speed and unquestioned toughness, Love should at least be a very good change-of-pace option for the Redskins, and he should eventually form an excellent one-two punch with Derrius Guice. Love’s dynasty value is definitely higher than his 2019 redraft value.

The Bengals have selected NC State quarterback Ryan Finley with the No. 104 pick (fourth round) in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Finley is an experienced quarterback that spent two years at Boise State and three seasons with NC State, and he has size teams like at six-foot-four, 213 pounds. He threw for 10,501 yards with 60 touchdowns and 25 interceptions in his three seasons with NC State, but now he’ll sit behind starter Andy Dalton in Cincinnati as he looks to compete for the backup job and eventually take over as the team’s starter. This is a good spot for him to potentially become a starting quarterback in the NFL, as he’s new head coach Zac Taylor’s first quarterback selection in the draft.

The Cardinals have selected Iowa State wide receiver Hakeem Butler with the No. 103 pick (fourth round) in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Butler, a big-bodied downfield target with an 84-inch wingspan, is similar to A.J. Green combined with some Josh Gordon run-after-the-catch skills. In his final season at Iowa State, Butler averaged 22.0 yards per reception on 60 grabs, totaling 1,318 yards and nine touchdowns, and he has the potential to be an immediate fantasy contributor in Arizona. You can learn more about Butler in our scouting report, which is linked below, but it’s a major surprise that he’s still available at the top of Round 4, as he easily could’ve been selected in the first or second round. With the Cardinals, Butler has a great player to learn from in future Hall of Famer Larry Fitzgerald, and Arizona could be set at receiver when Fitz retires with Christian Kirk and yesterday’s third-round pick Andy Isabella also in the mix.

Ryan Griffin was arrested for vandalism and public intoxication.
Police reports say that Griffin destroyed a Nashville hotel window. It sounds like Griffin drank too much, which is no excuse for his behavior. The Texans drafted two tight ends last year and another last night, so Griffin’s standing with the team is likely strained after this incident. Don’t be surprised if he’s released this weekend. Discipline from the league could also be coming.

The Vikings have selected Boise State running back Alexander Mattison with the No. 102 pick (third round) in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Mattison scored 17 touchdown for the Broncos last year, and he could slide right in as the backup to Dalvin Cook in Minnesota. There might have been a couple more explosive options on the board to close out Day 2, but Mattison will bring some power as a compliment to Cook. For now, he’s just a late-round handcuff in redraft leagues.

The Panthers have selected West Virginia quarterback Will Grier with the No. 100 pick (third round) of the 2019 NFL Draft.
With Cam Newton coming off shoulder surgery, they’re adding a potential immediate backup quarterback to the mix. Grier had a long college career that started with Florida in 2015, but he left the program after a PED suspension and landed at West Virginia, tossing 71 combined touchdowns the last two seasons in Dana Holgorson’s offense—he doesn’t have a huge arm, but he can definitely sling hte ball around and has some athleticism to move around and make off-platform throws. Grier is also from Charlotte, so landing with the Panthers is pretty cool for him. Obviously, there’s not much fantasy value right now for Grier with a former MVP quarterback ahead of him on the depth chart.

The Bills have selected Ole Miss tight end Dawson Knox with the No. 96 pick (third round) in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Knox suddenly received some surprising early-round buzz during the pre-draft process despite limited production and no touchdowns during his time at Mississippi. But he did have to contend with star receivers A.J. Brown, D.K. Metcalf, and DeMarkus Lodge for targets, and he was able to average 18.9 yards per reception (on just 15 receptions) in his final season as a junior. The athletic ability of Knox gives him dynasty-league upside, but it’d be a surprise if he’s a reliable fantasy contributor in 2019.
